Just where will it be legal to carry a gun in Illinois?
Law has tricky mix of where it's legal for permit holder to have gun
Well, it WAS crafted by Demonrats...For example, the law prohibits guns at events where there is a large gathering of people, like neighborhood street festivals. But it allows people with guns to walk through a public gathering on the way home, to work or to their car.
That means, according to some firearms instructors, that people could legally walk through the crowd at the South Side Irish Parade with a gun tucked in their belt but they couldn't hang around and watch the performances.
And although the law forbids guns in public parks, nothing in the statute prohibits someone from carrying a gun on a trail or bike path that goes through a park.
In other words, firearms instructors said, it's OK to arm yourself while riding a bike through the Cook County Forest Preserves, but you'd better not get off your bike to use the bathroom.
"It's like a Byzantine maze," said Colleen Lawson, owner of Lawson Handgun Institute, a firearms training facility on the North Side. "It's possible to get through it without breaking any laws, but it's tricky."Bottom line - carry at your own risk in Ill-Annoys, especially if you have a IL state CCW permit. Criminals and gang members will get a pass, as they have in the past.
There are serious penalties for violations. The first offense is a Class B misdemeanor, which has a maximum penalty of 180 days in jail and a $2,500 fine. A second violation is a Class A misdemeanor, which could result in up to a year in jail, a $2,500 fine and a six-month suspension of the concealed carry license. A three-time offender could get the same jail sentence, the same fine and a permanent revocation of the concealed carry license.Again, no worries unless you are law-abiding.
Loophole in Ill-Annoys?
We all know Ill-Annoys was dragged kicking and screaming into the modern world by a court order requiring them to enact a concealed carry law.
This they did - in the most difficult and irritating way possible. Chicago, of course, is allowed special latitude in refusing CCW permits.

Illinois allows residents of other states carry a concealed firearm in their vehicle if they are can legally carry a firearm in public under the laws of their state or territory of residence and are not prohibited from owning or possessing a firearm under federal law.So, ANY Wisconsin resident can carry concealed in their vehicle, since Wisconsin does not require a CCW to carry a gun in public - just if you want to "conceal" it.

The Progressive BIll of Rights
Amendment I.

As a child, I played cops and mobsters, cowboys and Indians and army vs army. If I was a child today I probably would have been locked up on someone’s terrorism watch list as would most of us over the age of 25.
What has led me to this belief? Because the Imagination Nazis are out in force, goosestepping all over imagination and childhood play. Banning toy guns apparently isn’t good enough for some “educators” like the South Eastern School District in Pennsylvania.
This school district has the tagline: “Providing Progressive Education to Strengthen the Global Community”.
With a motto like that is it any wonder that the powers that be suspended a 10 year old boy, Johnny Jones, for pantomiming a bow and arrow?Tar and feathers, folks - and a rail to "ride 'em out of town".

Now comes a Demonrat from New Jersey, Sen. Robert Menendez, angry that Target could screw up and expose millions of credit-card purchasers to fraud. He's got a sure-fire plan to fix things.
Let the SEC "fine" companies that lose customer's credit card or other personal information to hackers.
Great. The customers lose to the hackers, the stores get a federal fine - that goes right into the federal black hole, and the stores in turn raise prices to recoup their fine.
Everyone is happy, except the cheated customers, who still must deal with their deflicted credit card, and anyone who shops, as the prices go up to cover the new legal expenses.
I've got a real simple law that they could pass - make any retailer or credit-card company that loses customer information liable for every fraudulent charge and credit score loss suffered by any customer, along with a punitive fine payable directly - and tax-free - to the cheated customers. The stores might still raise their prices, but I'll bet they will be real careful with private information, knowing that they will have to pay for all the purchases a hacker might make, as well as paying the cheated for their time and trouble.
And, the federal government will never see a penny of that money.
Now - how could we make that idea work with outfits like the FDA and the EPA?

Political appointees like McCarthy do not speak for the police - they speak for the mayor and the ruling political party - and the Demonrats will NEVER admit the fact that more guns in the hands of law-abiding people will bring a decrease in crime.
Celebrating "only 400-odd" murders as a good thing is insane. None of the guns involved in those murders acted alone - each was wielded by a criminal.

In 1941 we had a Socialist President who ignored the Constitution and forced through a bunch of legislation that has resulted in lasting damage to America.
The Japanese took advantage of our apparent weakness to attack Pearl Harbor. Unfortunately for them, FDR was still an American, and our people were able to switch from a "peacetime" mentality to a wartime footing overnight. America still had a massive industrial base, and millions of skilled laborers, many who were out of work because of the Great Depression. We put together the greatest military force the world had ever seen and defeated both the Japanese and the Nazis, and after, we helped the world rebuild.
Ever since the 1960s, America has enacted law after law all intended to fix social ills or to "protect" the environment. The main result of these laws has been to institutionalize poverty and drive heavy industry offshore.
Today, we have a Socialist President that makes FDR look like a Reagan Republican, and we have foreign enemies who would love to see us brought low. Our military is being systematically stripped of leadership and hamstrung by social engineering.
Will history repeat? I doubt Jugears is capable of leading us anywhere but into Hell.

In another dictatorial move to squelch any and all opposition to his socialist dictatorship, President Obama’s administration has ordered the IRS to take action against all non-profits classified as social welfare 501(c)4 groups involved in political activities. This move appears to be targeting conservative groups and PACs such as Crossroads GPS and Priorities USA, both of which have been very vocal in their opposition to Obama and his policies.
On Tuesday, the IRS and Treasury Department offered up a new set of rules that would forbid non-profit organizations from being involved in any ‘candidate-related political activity.’ The banned activities would include registering voters, distributing campaign literature and running campaign related advertisements.

UN Troops Told To Kill Americans That Don’t Give Over Their Guns
New information has come to light as Obama continues his unconstitutional drive toward stricter gun control. We all remember how after the tragedy at Sandy Hook quite the uproar was heard throughout the country and whether stricter gun laws would help. This was met with strong opposition, and immediately shut down the government’s attempts of hindering the second amendment.
Unfortunately one state was able to infringe on these freedoms when the NY SAFE Act was signed into law.
After Obama was silenced on the issue, he took the only other way he knew how. Instead of going through our country’s court, he is attempting to pass a law through the World’s Court – the UN.

Standing offer
I said this a while back - "give me your "smart gun" and I'll make it work like a regular firearm in a hour".
OK. Looks like I might be able to hope for a test of my claim - all I need is for these folks to ship me a sample.
Armatix GmbH intends to market a "smart gun" here. Story at Alphecca. Their first model is a .22, but larger calibers are easy once you have a mechanism worked out.
A 2002 New Jersey law makes use of this mandatory for anyone in that People's Republik wanting to purchase a handgun within three years after the "smart" gun goes on the market.
Aside from the obvious conflict with the Second Amendment, this is a disaster waiting to happen. If the police are armed with these, look for some smart hacker to develop an area jammer that will disable all RF controlled "smart" guns within range. Following that, look for the police being targeted by criminals wanting to steal these guns, and modify them to shoot uncontrolled by the neat digital watch. If the gun is equipped with their "Target Response System", hackers could make themselves a "no shoot" zone. From their website:

Open carry in Neenah, Wisconsin
Recently in Neenah, two guys were out for a walk, one carrying a rifle. Somewhat unusual in downtown Neenah, perhaps, but nothing to get all worked up over.
First we have the 911 call that triggered the incident:

The officer gets a bit wordy here, but he's got something of a point. PSH do fear people carrying weapons.
The solution is not to hide our weapons but to desensitize the public to regular carry. This should not be seen as am unusual situation.
This cop tells us that if he sees me "walk into a gas station" carrying, he's going to cap me. I guess I've been really lucky, since I've open carried into several Beloit gas stations - and never got a look, except for the clerk with the Middle Eastern accent who wanted me to show him my gun - I declined...

Freedom of association
It's ironic - here in Wisconsin we have a law "stripping" public unions of much of their power to blackmail and extort pay increases and benefits from the taxpayers. This law is, of course, being contested by the people who would have to live within the budgets the people of Wisconsin can afford, otherwise.
I just heard one sound bite of a union member telling us that the Constitution prohibits laws that affect "freedom of association" - so membership in unions should be protected.
OK, I'll accept that anyone has a right to associate with anyone they choose. Allowing that association the power to command the people to pay them does not seem to be mentioned anywhere in the Constitution that I can find.
As much as I abhor what FDR did to our country with his "New Deal", he at least had the intelligence to prohibit public unions - so there was no extortion until Wisconsin led the way with allowing public unions in the late '50's.

Religion of peace?
Perhaps, for some values of "peace" - but definitely a religion of grand theft from anyone who isn't a devout Muslim (of the right polarity).

We have ample energy available in nuclear and future thorium-nuclear power plants. For the interim, "clean coal" technology exists that can also provide the thorium cycle with fuel.
We had clean, safe nuclear power available twenty years ago, in the form of the Argonne Labs' IFR project - that was killed by President Clinton, at a cost higher than allowing the project to be completed would have been.
(Damn, Slick Willie has a lot to answer for - he killed the Superconducting Supercollider in Texas, too. So many Demonrat Presidents have done so much to hamstring humanity's advance...)
It does not suit the plans of the New World Order and the international Communist movement to allow the use of energy sources that are cheaper and truly sustainable, because these sources tend to make people independent of governments. Wind farms and solar farms can only exist with governmental subsidies - no corporation on Earth would touch these technologies in the volume they exist today unless they were getting healthy amounts of money from somewhere - and turbines and solar farms can never economically justify themselves.
I would love to see an accounting of how much dirty energy is required to produce one wind farm turbine - versus how much "clean" energy that turbine will produce over it's lifetime. Or, how much energy and toxic waste is involved in making a lithium cell for commercial energy storage. Is there a break-even, or a net loss?

California has adopted the United States' first energy storage mandate, requiring the state's three major power companies to have electricity storage capacity that can output 1325 megawatts in place by the end of 2020, and 200 MW by the end of next year. The new rule issued by the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) will be key to implementation of the state's ambitious renewable portfolio rules, which calls for 33 percent of delivered electricity to come from renewable sources by 2020 and virtually guarantees that California, along with Germany, will remain in the world vanguard of those aggressively building out wind and solar.

Evidence of Widespread Voter Fraud Found in Virginia Governor’s Race
Richmond, VA–Merely hours after the close of a bitter and divisive Governor’s race in Virginia that saw Democrat Terry McAuliffe pull out a win over Republican Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli, irregularities in voting data have emerged. According to mainstream media outlets McAuliffe supposedly defeated Cuccinelli in a razor-thin 47-46 percent victory to become the next Governor of the great state of Virginia.
Immediately following the announcement, Cuccinelli’s office opened a full investigation into the legitimacy of the vote and quickly turned up surprising results. In 13 districts, multiple instances of intimidation at the polls were reported. Large black men wearing traditional Black Panther garb were reported lingering around polling places approaching older voters asking questions about who they intended on voting for. In Loudoun and Fairfax counties (traditional Democratic strongholds), election officials withheld submitting voter data in order to get an idea of whether to count absentee ballots or not. In an audit of the voter registration information, it quickly became apparent that MULTIPLE votes were cast by people who were either deceased or had long ago moved out of the district.
According to exit polling Cuccinelli won the race by big margins reaching a high percent of the key voting blocks of women, Latinos and Blacks.
Cuccinelli was a target of large amounts of out of state financing as the Democrats set out to make the race be a referendum against the Tea Party movement. McAuliffe got a late boost from Bill and Hillary Clinton, as well as Joe Biden, who campaigned hard for the Democrat.The Demonrats know full well that they will lose in a fair election - so they cheat.
Here in Wisconsin we hear that we don't need Voter ID because there's no cheating - but I remember reading in the Chicago Tribune back when Clinton, or maybe Gore, was running for President, that Demonrat "community organizers" were providing rides to the polls and passing out cigarettes on Milwaukee's Skid Row equivalents.

The future is here

It appears that perhaps some polishing and stamping of lettering was done after the printing - sintered parts are "grainy" looking right out of the printer, and there will be some roughness due to the finite thickness of the many layers of metal making up the parts.
The barrel is the last sticking point for 3-D printed weapons. Plastic versions only last a few rounds at the most, as plastic tends to melt or char under the heat of a round firing. let alone the friction of the bullet in the bore.
Laser sintering 3-D printing machines aren't cheap - but they also aren't federally regulated - yet.
I wonder if an enterprising entrepreneur could buy one of these and offer time on the machine to citizens who want their very own one-off printed handgun?

And now, some other news
Recently, I put flashing in place around the outside cellar door. No more basement flooding from water leaking past the edges of the door.
Also rebuilt the small storage shed - it's going to be the winter chicken coop. The original back by the shooting range will be too far away to manage once we get a foot of snow on the ground, let alone be possible to have electricity run out to it to keep the birds and their water from freezing.
The '63 Bug is poised to get new door seals and trim - and a replacement windshield (again, the first new one developed a crack at eye level on the driver's side) for reasonable prices, even with shipping. Might be able to have the car sealed up before the worst of the weather hits us.
The new job is going good.
#1 daughter is mostly moved in to her new house.
Everyone is healthy, despite the best efforts of our government.
Moved my orange workshop hypercat Leo II into the house - Lucky and Hal are still hiding, but the signs are that they will learn to co-exist peacefully. Now, I can work without an orange streak flashing across my keyboard periodically.
Oh, yeah - found the nagging problem with the prototype I've been working on for my last customer - a bad solder joint on a filter capacitor. All the weirdness in the unit is gone now - and my desire to work on that project is back.
Going to go out later today to finish clearing the swale I want to bridge out back of fallen trees. Might actually finish that job before winter.

JugearsCare is imploding. The major networks are reporting the fact that Jugears Osama LIES bald-faced whenever he tells us "facts" about this abomination, and knew long before the thing was passed that no one would be able to "keep their present plan".
The Demonrat leadership is starting to fracture. True believers like Nancy Pee-Lousy and Hairy Reid are still hanging on, but many others are fleeing the sinking ship of state.
Even some of the RINOs in CONgress are starting to figure out that their support of this creature from Hell might hurt their re-election chances.
The EPA is poised to finish Jugears' plan for destroying the American economy. Bush-era environmental rules just closed the last virgin lead smelter in the USA - now, all our heavy metal needs will come from China, where there is no effective "EPA".
The FDA just approved China as a processor for our chicken - so we are now going to be shipping American-raised birds by ship to China for "processing" in plants unregulated by those same bureaucrats who can't stop salmonella outbreaks here. When will the first lawsuit against KFC or McDonald's for melamine-infused chicken parts be filed?
Dianne Feinswine and Babs Boxer and their ilk are still trying to get more illegal gun control laws enacted.
The Federal Reserve has told us they intend to keep on printing funny money by the billions per month. Inflation is good, right?
When will the outcry for mass impeachments start?
More importantly, WHO will prosecute those impeachments when those needing to be impeached make up a majority of CONgress?
Locally, the infestation of roundabouts or "traffic circles" continues to spread. I found a new route to work around the west side of Rockford that unfortunately has one of these idiocies in the middle of a major 55 MPH highway - with a 15 MPH speed limit - and they mean it. 15 MPH is the upper limit for safely going around those curves.
Common Core continues to encroach on our schools, and the Demonrats in Wisconsin led by fleebagger and lame duck Tim Cullen can't stop squawking for more money for "public" schools, to be spent on things like seat belts in school buses. Evidently, bus accidents are not sufficiently bad now - they want to ensure that the kids have even less chance of getting out of a sinking, rolled or burning wreck than they do now - at a cost of only about $15,000.00 per bus.
The Town of Beloit is considering incorporating part of the area, and cutting us in the rural area loose. At least here the leaders are going to listen to the voice of the people. That might not make much difference, since in a "democracy" the 51% get to dictate to the 49% - and the majority of Town of Beloit residents live in the area being considered for incorporation - and would benefit from it.

When will the outcry for mass impeachments start?
More importantly, WHO will prosecute those impeachments when those needing to be impeached make up a majority of CONgress?
Locally, the infestation of roundabouts or "traffic circles" continues to spread. I found a new route to work around the west side of Rockford that unfortunately has one of these idiocies in the middle of a major 55 MPH highway - with a 15 MPH speed limit - and they mean it. 15 MPH is the upper limit for safely going around those curves.
Common Core continues to encroach on our schools, and the Demonrats in Wisconsin led by fleebagger and lame duck Tim Cullen can't stop squawking for more money for "public" schools, to be spent on things like seat belts in school buses. Evidently, bus accidents are not sufficiently bad now - they want to ensure that the kids have even less chance of getting out of a sinking, rolled or burning wreck than they do now - at a cost of only about $15,000.00 per bus.
The Town of Beloit is considering incorporating part of the area, and cutting us in the rural area loose. At least here the leaders are going to listen to the voice of the people. That might not make much difference, since in a "democracy" the 51% get to dictate to the 49% - and the majority of Town of Beloit residents live in the area being considered for incorporation - and would benefit from it.
Enough. I'm sick of ranting. When the rain clears, I'm going out back and doing some target practice.

In fact we are already over the debt limit and the sky hasn't fallen. The present debt limit is $16.999 trillion. According to Treasury Direct, the Dept. of Treasury's website the US has already surpassed the debt limit by over $47 trillion.
If the October 17th deadline is passed without an increase in the debt ceiling it simply means the government can't borrow money and has to "live" on the tax revenue it takes in each month (about $250 billion). Interest on the federal debt runs about $20 billion each month leaving money left to run parts of the government.And that's what Jugears cannot abide - living within "his" means. As a good would-be Communist elite, he feels he's entitled to live like a king while the proles adore him from afar.

That means approximately 275,000 men and women in uniform, and their families, are served by only 234 active-duty priests. The temporary solution to this shortage is to provide GS and contract priests. These men are employed by the government to ensure that a priest is available when an active duty Catholic Chaplain is not present. With the government shutdown, many GS and contract priests who minister to Catholics on military bases worldwide are not permitted to work – not even to volunteer. During the shutdown, it is illegal for them to minister on base and they risk being arrested if they attempt to do so.Emphasis mine.

Wisconsin Nullifies Park Service Shutdown Order
The governor of Wisconsin, who has previously publicly stated his intention to resist Obamacare, had his state’s Department of Natural Resources reject federal requests to close portions of parks in the wake of the federal government’s shutdown. The Wisconsin DNR also reopened a boat launch that the federal government had closed down on Tuesday.
As reported by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:
“The park service ordered state officials to close (portions of national parks), but state authorities rebuffed the request because the lion’s share of the funding came from state, not federal coffers.” The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service had also closed down a boat launch, but “in a sign of defiance, the DNR removed the barricades at the landing, saying it had the legal authority to operate the launch under a 1961 agreement with the federal government.”Let’s ignore for a moment the idiocy of closing park land because of Congress can’t decide exactly how much it should add to the ballooning national debt. What Wisconsin has done is quite heroic. In the face of childish federal “take my ball and go home” tactics, Wisconsin has told the feds to go away, that they can handle the expenses of maintaining these parks without federal “help.”
Governor Walker advised the federal government to “Look at what we did in Wisconsin. We had a $3.6 billion deficit; we now have more than a half-a-billion-dollar surplus.” Walker added, “I think not just in Wisconsin but in states across the country there’s a lot of governors and lawmakers in both parties who wish the folks in Washington in both parties would act more like the states and less like our nation’s capital.”

UPDATE: I got a letter telling me my ham radio license expires in January -so I went to the FCC's renewal website. Found this:
Telecommunications companies must continue to use the Network Outage Reporting System (NORS), which will remain available during the shutdown, to file reports of telecommunication service disruptions pursuant to Part 4 of the FCC's rules. NORS allows companies to file Notifications, Initial Reports and Final Reports. The information on service disruptions is essential to maintain and improve the reliability and security of the telecommunications infrastructure.
Vacancy announcements for positions that were open for receipt of applications have been closed and will re-open when the Government is operational.
During this time, the FCC is not accepting any deliveries of supplies, or services that have not been identified as necessary for the safety of life or the protection of property.
The Commission has issued a Public Notice concerning procedures for submissions that would be due to the FCC during the shutdown.

OK. The federal government is "shut down" for lack of money. 5/6 of Jugears' personal servants in the White House are on layoff.
There's no money to "run" the national parks or monuments. Especially the ones that require absolutely no human attention on a daily basis - like the veteran's memorials, that are in the open air and have no gates or admission hours, let alone attendants.
Somehow, though, Jugears has found the money to have a bunch of Park Service employees place barricades across sidewalks and in the grass to keep WWII vets away from their monument - the monument paid for with tax money, and their blood, sweat, and tears.
Somehow, the money was found to keep mounted park police on duty for the express purpose of preventing American citizens, especially veterans, from paying their respects to the fallen at them.
Several right-thinking members of Congress went out yesterday to remove the barricades Jugears personally ordered erected. Those barriers were reinstalled again today.
If the government was truly shut down, someone should have switched Jugears off for the duration.

The last straw
What will it be?
If I was living in the Virginia Beach area, this would be it for me:
An example must be made. How about a blacklist of former school officials who have mindlessly adhered to "zero tolerance" rules, or worse, attempted to spread lies and disinformation to their students about our laws and history. Anyone on this blacklist would be shunned by all Americans, and ultimately end up in a cardboard box under a bridge or would emigrate to a country where such people are welcome.
I, for one, would be happy to donate some $$$ to a project to relocate these types to a more favorable place - North Korea comes to mind...

That school ends at the end of the school day and that anything at all that happens off school property is absolutely none of their business.The Virginia Beach seventh graders who were suspended for playing with an airsoft toy gun on their own private property have now been expelled for an entire school year.
The decision was made unanimously by a disciplinary committee consisting of three members of the Virginia Beach City Public Schools board, according to local news.
Khalid Caraballo and Aidan Clark are banned from Larkspur Middle School until at least January, when a new hearing will be convened to determine whether the boys can come back to school early.

There is a link to a bigger article -Hardly major news when we hear more about gun violence and murder in Chicago - in fact just one day ago a mass shooting in South Side park was reported, albeit fortunately with no fatalities. Chief McCarthy however soon got on the "assault" weapon band-wagon, working we assume on the basis that banning such rifles automatically prevents criminal aquisition and use.In recently released statistics, the FBI reported there were over 500 murders in the Windy City in 2012, and yet as most know, the City is perhaps the largest single gun-free zone in the nation. Illegal guns of course are in plentiful supply but the good guys have no legal recourse to a means of self-defense.

Every so often, I get an email from a friend, discussing gun control and violence. I thought I would share this one:
My response:Chuck, Jim, the information that I have so far gleaned from the media is that the D C Shooter was a mentally unstable man who was permitted to own and use guns. He was legally armed when he killed those innocent victims. The information seems to be structured to advance an ideology. It hasn't been easy to get detailed information, so whatever I have has been sketchy at best. I would like to know your opinions on1) what happed, and,2) how can this sort of tragedy be minimized, and,3) is new legislation necessary?Mike,this is big news here. Bill, as far as I can see, the guy came on to the base with a shotgun, attacked and disarmed two security people to get handguns, and proceeded to go shooting. Reports say many of the base personnel were armed - but evidently, not where it mattered.
There is no way to "minimize" this kind of crime unless we allow the government to institutionalize every person who ever showed any signs of anger or instability.
I believe that the proper legislative approach is to repeal all the failed "gun control" legislation, and allow the American people to exercise their rights as per the basic law of the land, the Constitution. Step one.
Next, we must dismantle the painstakingly built up framework of welfare and the dependency on government it fosters. This will be a long bloody fight, as so many Americans are hopelessly addicted to the system.
At the same time, we must somehow instill the values of a bygone era in the children of America, so that they grow up knowing how the system is supposed to work and that no one advances by stealing the bread from another in this country, but only by their own hard work and moral grounding.
I don't see either of these happening in our lifetimes.
One thing that has been ignored by the media and those mental giants in Washington is the fact that most, if not all, of the perpetrators were either under treatment with psychotropic drugs, or had "gone off their meds" shortly before the incident. As many of these drugs carry dire warnings about suicide and other side effects, perhaps all such treatment should be carried out inside a secure facility until the patient is recovered, or for life if such recovery cannot be guaranteed. I fear this kind of power in the hands of our present "leaders" - remember the Soviet Union routinely used :mental hospitals" for "rehabilitation" of political dissidents.
The rise in violence in this country tracks the dismantling of our mental health infrastructure, the rise of inner-city welfare, and the destruction of family. I know that correlation does not prove causation, but both issues are worth looking into.
