Truth

It's all a scheme to make creatures like Algore very rich and our lords and masters:

GLOBAL WARMING: APPARENTLY NOTHING BUT A HUGE HOAX

But don’t let leftists hear you mention this since truth and logic are like sunlight to vampires to them.
Looks like the real data was substituted with “computer generated” data to make their theories work and, in subsequent years, cause the virtual destruction of cheap, efficient energy systems around the planet and hundreds of billions in “alternative energies” that, plainly said, SUCK DOG DICK!”
Hell, we’ve actually been COOLING since the 30s.

Cheeta

Stolen verbatim from BMEWS:

I asked about Cheeta:
he beamed and said, “Cheeta do good.
She marry lawyer, had plastic surgery,
now live in White House!!!

Vilmar is a bad influence!

Great art must be acknowledged. Perfect juxtaposition at the link.

No-Fly bye-bye?

Let's see if this gets upheld on appeal - which I am certain there will be filed...

Federal judge rules U.S. no-fly list violates Constitution

(Reuters) - The U.S. government's no-fly list banning people accused of links to terrorism from commercial flights violates their constitutional rights because it gives them no meaningful way to contest that decision, a federal judge ruled on Tuesday.

U.S. District Judge Anna Brown, ruling on a lawsuit filed in federal court in Oregon by 13 Muslim Americans who were branded with the no-fly status, ordered the government to come up with new procedures that allow people on the no-fly list to challenge that designation.

"The court concludes international travel is not a mere convenience or luxury in this modern world. Indeed, for many international travel is a necessary aspect of liberties sacred to members of a free society," Brown wrote in her 65-page ruling.

"Accordingly, on this record the court concludes plaintiffs inclusion on the no-fly list constitutes a significant deprivation of their liberty interests in international travel," Brown said.

The decision hands a major victory to the 13 plaintiffs - four of them veterans of the U.S. military - who deny they have links to terrorism and say they only learned of their no-fly status when they arrived at an airport and were blocked from boarding a flight.

Clint Eastwood's opinion

From a friend:

My Twilight Years ~ Clint Eastwood
As I enjoy my twilight years, I am often struck by the inevitability that the party must end. There will be a clear, cold morning when there isn't any "more." No more hugs, no more special moments to celebrate together, no more phone calls just to chat.
It seems to me that one of the important things to do before that morning comes, is to let everyone of your family and friends know that you care for them by finding simple ways to let them know your heartfelt beliefs and the guiding principles of your life so they can always say, "He was my friend, and I know where he stood."
So, just in case I'm gone tomorrow, please know this:
I voted against that incompetent, lying, flip-flopping, insincere, double-talking, radical socialist, terrorist excusing, bleeding heart, narcissistic, scientific and economic moron currently in the White House!
Participating in a gun buy-back program because you think that criminals have too many guns is like having yourself castrated because you think your neighbors have too many kids.
Regards,
Clint

Attention Veterans

From a friend who served in Viet Nam:

If you know a Veteran please pass it along.

PRINT THIS OUT and save it in your VA files. There may be a time for it’s use in the future.

Below are web-sites that provide information on Veterans benefits and how to file/ask for them.
Accordingly, there are many sites that explain how to obtain books, military/medical records, information and how to appeal a denied claim with the VA. Please pass this information on to every Veteran you know.
Nearly 100% of this information is free and available for all veterans, the only catch is: you have to ask for it, because they won't tell you about a specific benefit unless you ask for it.
You need to know what questions to ask so the right doors open for you and then be ready to have an advocate who is willing to work with and for you, stay in the process, and press for your rights and your best interests.

Broken ankle - the sequel

Second time - broke my right fibula. Tripped on the stairs going down to let the dog out Tuesday about 1 AM. We had pulled the carpeting up in preparation to rebuilding the stairs to match the new wood floors.

Broke it the first time about three years ago - about six inches up from the ankle. Ruined my summer.

Well, this time it is a break just above the lower end of the bone - the part that constrains the ankle from sliding off the end of the tibia. I had an appointment set up for 10 AM this morning, yesterday - and someone in the office cancelled it and made a new one with the orthopedic surgeon I had look at the first broken fibula, and who I expected to fix my torn left knee meniscus next month - on Monday. Four days from now.

Now, since I don't consider myself the personal property of anyone, not even an MD, I raised hell. The doctor's answering service has a rule - after 5 PM, they are prohibited from leaving a message for the doctor. I hung up on the nice lady - didn't swear, kept my cool.

About 15 minutes later, I got a call from a third doctor in that office - could I come in RIGHT NOW?

Yes, I could. Got my wife to drive me over.

He examined me, and I have surgery set up for 7 AM tomorrow to have a plate and screws installed to reinforce the fibula until it heals.

I'm going to have words with the original ortho guy - if he figured on capturing all my surgery work by cancelling an appointment I had set up, he's got another think coming. The knee repair will be the last work he sees from me. If it was someone on his staff, without his knowledge, I will hope suitable disciplinary action is taken.

Can you imagine Joe the Mechanic calling up Fred the Other Mechanic, who you had a brake job set up with and cancelling it so he could get the work? Just because you had seen Joe a couple times in the past and this time he wasn't available when you really needed those brakes fixed?

I can't afford losing the better part of a week at work just so my "regular" surgeon can get my business. This injury is the kind you get fixed NOW - not at someone else's convenience.

Is this a glimpse into the future of American medicine under Jugearscare?

Phishing via phone

I currently have a call on musical hold - caller ID says "private call".

A gentleman with a vaguely Middle Eastern or Asian accent wants to help me with Windows. Seems my computer has called him for help.

I told him, quite excitedly, that I've been having trouble, and could he hold while I get to my machine? That was ten minutes ago, and he's still waiting.

Time to fire up the music - "Inna Gadda Da Vida" sounds about right...and the speaker phone...

Now - to wait for the hang-up...

Update - he held on for the first six minutes of Led Zeppelin - almost 20 minutes total. I think he had to ask a supervisor if he should quit waiting.

Confession

Confession, the heart of the soul! Even if you are a Democrat!!!
.
.
COMMUNITY SERVICE IT CAN BE REWARDING !
.
A guy enters a Roman Catholic Church confessional booth in D.C.
.
He tells the Priest, "Bless me, Father, for I have sinned. Last night, I beat the hell out of an Obama supporter"
.
The Priest responds, "My son, I'm here to forgive your sins, not to discuss your community service."

Right from a female asses' mouth

It's all about "freedom from fear" - fear made up and stoked by Hitlary and her fellow Demonrats:

"We can not let a minority of people - hold a viewpoint that terrifies the majority of people"...

Lies upon lies. Government can not "protect" anyone from violence by banning anything - all they can do is waste more of our money, and in the case of guns, prevent people from being able to defend themselves from the bad guys - and ultimately, from people like Hitlary.

What is a female ass called? A "jenny"? Or is that a donkey? Is there any difference?

What difference does it make, anyway? A bitch is still a bitch, and a "liberal" Demonrat is still an evil thing to allow to roam freely.

The lost, first Air Force One

Presidents had planes, but President Eisenhower had the first Air Force One...

Many of these planes are displayed at Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton. This one is sitting in the Arizona desert, slowly rotting away.

Finally!

Someone involved in local road signage has intelligence!

On Afton Road, where if enters Beloit, southbound lanes go from 40 MPH to 25. Northbound, there was no speed limit sign at the same place. A quarter mile further north was the first 40 MPH sign.

So, people leaving Beloit northbound would technically be in violation if they accelerated to the same speed as those coming south into town. I never saw police with radar in the area, but i would have been mighty peeved if I got a speeding ticket leaving town while those entering were still legal at higher speeds.

Well, over the weekend, someone posted a 40 MPH sign, northbound across the street from the first Beloit 25 MPH sign.

Logic finally prevails - but now I wonder if I will see radar cops in the area, as the median speed on that portion of Afton is 50 MPH...

Right from the asses' mouth

We need to surrender to higher authority - and that means Jugears and his cadre of people so much smarter than us:

Not too sure how "Jesuit trained" applies to one who attended a madrasa...

Manual for a PLC

Verbatim from a PLC manual I am studying at work, concerning replacing the memory backup lithium battery:

4.5.2 Notice in using
(1) Do not heat the battery or solder the polarity. ( It may cause the reduction of life.)
(2) Do not measure the voltage or short with tester. (It may cause the fire.)
(3) Do not disassemble the battery.

Personally, I have never considered soldering the polarity...but I've measured voltages plenty of times without causing the fire...
