Big Plans on the Hard Left for November 4

One thing overlooked in the uproar over Charlottesville is that this was, evidently, merely a dress rehearsal for a much larger-scale effort planned for this Autumn.  Activist groups on the left evidently have something big in store for November 4^th. The idea seems to be a revival of the 1971 “Days of Rage” – an effort to shut down the country as a whole to force a change in government.
Thanks to one of many political mailing lists that AT finds itself on, we received an email last Sunday from the “Stop Mass Incarceration Network,” a little-known left-wing agitation group, one of many single-issue offshoots (contrary to general belief, the left carries out most of its activities through these small, mostly under-the-radar outfits. The mechanism for this was outlined in Scott Powell’s classic study, Covert Cadre).
Following a number of paragraphs of chest-beating concerning the Charlottesville confrontation, the message, which was sent out over the name of an activist claiming to be named Carl Dix, goes on to declare this:

…we must build off of this resistance to act to end the nightmare of this fascist regime by taking to the streets on November 4th and staying in the streets to drive this regime from power. RefuseFascism.org is holding regional conferences to organize for doing this. Get connected to these regional conferences and get organized for November 4th…
…And we need to go from resistance to mobilizing to end the nightmare of the Trump/Pence regime. Right now these fascists, from Trump on down, are moving very quickly to hammer into place their fascist regime and this must be STOPPED. The organization Refuse Fascism has called for people to come into the streets and public squares and cities and towns across the country beginning on November 4 and stay in the streets day after day and night after night until the DEMAND is met: This Nightmare Must End: The Trump/Pence Regime Must GO! For this to happen, everybody needs to be at August 19 regional conferences to organize and mobilize for this.

Looks like the gloves are off. Keep your ammo dry....

Runup to war? Precision strike on fiber optics, generators

WASHINGTON – Was a sniper attack on a power station’s transformer in San Jose, Calif., last year a prelude to future, perhaps larger, terrorist attacks on the vulnerable U.S. grid system?

That appears to be the consensus emerging from the attack that included a professional cutting of fiber optic lines and then shooting AK-47 rounds into the transformer of a PG&E Metcalf substation in San Jose.

The goal apparently was to cause the coolant to drain and the substation’s transformers to burn up and create a major blackout in the area.

In the attack, one or two individuals went down manholes at the suburban San Jose facility and cut fiber cables that knocked out 9-1-1 and land-line service to the power station.

In addition, they fired more than 100 7.62mm x 39mm rounds into about 10 transformers, damaging a number of them.

The idea was to cause cooling oil to leak out and force the transformers to overheat and shut down, if not burn up altogether. Depending on their size, larger transformers are imported and are specially designed, which means they are not easily replaced. Some take up to three years to swap out under normal circumstances.

The attack last year did not affect the electrical flow, owing in part to the fact that it occurred at night, demand was low and emergency workers were able to respond to prevent any major shutdown. 

Those big transformers don't sit on shelves at Home Depot, waiting to be installed. They are custom-built in only a few factories on Earth, and have LONG lead times.

Acts of war aside, a solar storm that sends a big CME our way could induce enough current in the long main feeders between the generators and the big transformers to cause them to saturate and self-destruct. AFAIK, there has been little or no work done on our grid to protect against this. One event like that could put us back in the 1880's overnight.

 

FDIC?

If you think you are insured, think again. From Ann Barnhardt:

A reader sent this in. Effective December 31, 2012, FDIC insurance became AGGREGATED with a maximum PER OWNER cap of $250,000.

Many of you are under the impression that FDIC protection is per account, and thus if you just keep your money spread around and never keep more that a quarter-mil in cash in any one bank that you are "safe".

Nope. It is tied to your Social Security number / Tax ID number now.

And remember, total bank deposits in the U.S. are somewhere around TEN TRILLION DOLLARS and the FDIC deposit insurance fund as of March 31, 2012 had a whopping $15 BILLION.

Bottom line: if you think your bank deposits are "insured" or "safe" because of FDIC protection, you're totally irrational.

Is Obama Pushing for a Civil War?

For more than 230 years, Americans have revered the most fundamental protections of freedom and liberty, their Bible, their Constitution and their guns. Under the Obama administration, this is now the new operative definition of “domestic terrorist.”

According to Obama’s DOJ, they now have the right to use Drone attacks on these “terrorists” just like the Drone attacks used to kill terrorists in Pakistan.

This is either the strangest set of anti-American coincidences in human history, or something wicked this way comes… Even Father of American Socialism FDR got it right once…

“As a matter of fact and law, the governing rights of the States are all of those which have not been surrendered to the National Government by the Constitution or its amendments.”

Individually, each of these documented events is highly troublesome in the Land of the once Free and Home of the once Brave. But combined, it all adds up to the Obama administration and their Marxist minions working around the clock to shove America into a second Civil War.

Is there any other way to see it?

Moves Forward in IL!

Legislation Advances to Senate Floor for Debate and Possible Vote Today!

HB 815 amendment 1& 2 and HB1263 amendments 5 & 6 were approved along party lines (Democrats supporting, Republicans opposing) and passed out of the Senate Public Health Committee last night. Both bills now proceed to the full Senate for a floor debate and vote, possibly as soon as today.

If passed the bills would ban most all semi-auto handguns, rifles, and shotguns as well as pump rifle and shotguns. The proposed legislation would also close down most shooting ranges and clubs that are open to the public or conduct events open to the public. Included in the legislation is a ban on ammunition magazines with a capacity to hold more than 10 rounds, a requirement to register all guns and magazines with the Illinois State Police.

We cannot allow Chicago politicians to spread Chicago's disregard for the Second Amendment and their outrageous treatment of law abiding gun owners to the rest of the state.

Call your IL State Senator NOW and urge him/her to vote no on HB 815 and HB 1263! Call Senate President John Cullerton and let him know you do not appreciate Chicago-style gun and range bans being forced on the rest of the state! Be polite but firm!

Michelle Obama’s Warning To Gun Owners

Nearly three years into President Obama’s first term in office, Michelle Obama finally said something with which I can agree.
At a recent fundraiser for President Obama’s re-election campaign in Providence, Rhode Island, the first lady told her audience:

“We stand at a fundamental crossroads for our country. You’re here because you know that in just 13 months, we’re going to make a choice that will impact our lives for decades to come … let’s not forget what it meant when my husband appointed those two brilliant Supreme Court justices … let’s not forget the impact that their decisions will have on our lives for decades to come.”
This was music to the ears of the small, affluent crowd of admirers who cheered and applauded. But to gun owners, Michelle Obama’s remarks should sound like a warning bell, alerting us to the danger ahead should Barack Obama win re-election and get the opportunity to alter the current make-up of the Supreme Court.

When Americans flock to the polls in 13 months, we will not simply decide which direction our country should take over the next four years. Rather, we will decide whether or not our fundamental, individual right to keep and bear arms will survive over the next several decades.

Currently, the Second Amendment clings to a 5-4 pro-freedom majority on the Supreme Court. Just one vote is all that stands between the America our Founding Fathers established and a radically different America that Barack Obama and his supporters envision.

If you want to read something scary, take another look at the minority opinions in the Supreme Court’s landmark Heller and McDonald decisions that struck down Washington, D.C.’s and Chicago’s unconstitutional gun bans. In the Heller dissent, four justices concluded that the Second Amendment does not guarantee an individual right to own a firearm, nor does it protect our right to defend ourselves, our families, or our property. In McDonald, the same four justices argued that the 5-4 Heller decision should be reversed.


If these four justices had just one more vote on their side, their opinion — that the Second Amendment should not exist in today’s modern society — would be the law of the land today. And assuredly, the anti-gun activist wing of the court knows how close they are to gaining the upper hand. As Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg told a Harvard Club audience in 2009, she looks forward to the day when a “future, wiser court” overturns 5-4 decisions like Heller.

Praying for the health of five justices is not a sound legal strategy for ensuring that our Second Amendment freedoms survive the relentless legal assault that gun-ban groups are waging in courtrooms across America. We need a president who will nominate sound, originalist nominees to the high court — nominees who will preserve the freedoms our Founding Fathers enshrined in our Constitution.

If President Obama gets the opportunity to tilt the balance of the Supreme Court in his favor, we’re unlikely to see another pro-gun victory at the Court in our lifetime. Even worse, the 5-4 majorities in Heller and McDonald will be in serious jeopardy of being reversed, effectively eliminating the Second Amendment.

NRA members, gun owners and all freedom-loving Americans should heed Michelle Obama’s warning. We must spend the next 13 months working to make sure her husband doesn’t get four more years to destroy American freedom for generations to come.
