Religion of peace?

Perhaps, for some values of "peace" - but definitely a religion of grand theft from anyone who isn't a devout Muslim (of the right polarity).

U.S. imam: Muslims can take the property of Christians and Jews

In his sermon/lecture in the YouTube audio below, Qadhi begins by calling Christians “shirk” for being “polythesists” who believe in the Triune God, instead of Islam’s “monotheist” god Allah. Since “there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah wuzza wuzza,” Christians are “by necessity and by definition … the most evil of all evils.” Like all “unbelievers” and “polytheists.” Christians are “filthy.” They are ”najusa” (feces, urine) — “a filthy impure dirty substance.”
Then Qadhi declares that the prophet Mohammad — and by extension all Muslims — “has been commanded to do jihad.”
What is jihad?
Jihad “is a means to establish monotheism on the land.” The prophet had said, “I have been commanded to fight the people until they” convert to Islam. But “if they don’t [convert to Islam,] their life and property are halal [free for the taking] for the Muslims.”

Their own words. This is what a devout Muslim believes.

When will our government take notice of what is happening right here, right now?

Well, as long as we have a Muslim-loving president, never.

When "mainstream" Islam begins to publicly disavow people like Qadhi, I'll start to believe they might be thinking of peaceful co-existence with other religions. Until then:

That flight-critical aircraft systems would be unencrypted...

Hacker uses an Android to remotely attack and hijack an airplane

The Hack in the Box (#HITB2013AMS) security conference in Amsterdam has a very interesting lineup of talks [pdf]. One that jumped out was the Aircraft Hacking: Practical Aero Series presented by Hugo Teso, a security consultant at n.runs in Germany.
According to the abstract, “This presentation will be a practical demonstration on how to remotely attack and take full control of an aircraft, exposing some of the results of my three years research on the aviation security field. The attack performed will follow the classical methodology, divided in discovery, information gathering, exploitation and post-exploitation phases. The complete attack will be accomplished remotely, without needing physical access to the target aircraft at any time, and a testing laboratory will be used to attack virtual airplanes systems.
Well, he only hacked a "virtual" airplane, but why in HELL was this not thought of when they designed those systems?

Idiots. I'm ashamed of some of my fellow engineers.

I thought Croatia was a small country in Eastern Europe

I have no idea why they are involved with "Earth First", even as part of the name.

North Carolinians Face Ongoing ‘Environmental Justice’ Attacks

Croatan Earth First's! logo includes a tomahawk and a wrench -- to destroy industrialized society.
If you live in beautiful North Carolina, you may have encountered the activities of the wildly radical group known as Croatan Earth First! This group is pushing “environmental justice” and is apparently opposed to the use of any natural resources for the production of energy. They’re determined to destroy capitalism to “save the planet.”

The group is aligned with a number of extremist groups including animal liberation organizations, anti-whaling groups, anti-logging activists, and anti-fossil fuel groups.

Its web site boasts of its alignment with Sea Shepherd, an anti-whaling group that has “sunk ten whaling vessels” so far. It is apparently okay to let the humans drown, but let’s save the whales.

The group is also opposed to logging hardwood in North Carolina because it will apparently damage the “ecosystem,” which includes bacteria and fungi living there. Croatan Earth First! is concerned about the death of the horn devil caterpillar and the wheel bug as well. Human need for fuel is irrelevant.

Its manifesto decries “machines” that dynamite mountains for coal and opposes “pigs packed into a factory, the endless expanse of tobacco fields, the M-16s pointed in the face of foreigners, the anti-depressants polluting our waters; these are all part of our reality.”

It opposes capitalism, economic growth and urges its followers to use direct action against those who commit “violence against the living world.”
Read the whole thing.

Croatan Earth First's "who we are" web page includes a paragraph about "Respect for all life" - which, I guess, means that human beings are not "life" in their estimation, since 90% of us would ahve to die and be composted - organically, of course - for the world to work the way they envision.

I wonder how they would react to a good dose of violence applied up alongside their pointy heads?

Never forget 9/11/2001

At 8:46:26 a.m on September 11th, 2001, an airliner hijacked by Islamic terrorists crashed into the north tower of New York's World Trade Center. A little later a second plane hit the other tower, and yet another hijacked plane crashed into the Pentagon. A fourth plane crashed in a field in Pennsylvania when the passengers tacked the hijackers.

These attacks were acts of war by Islamic persons. I don't use the term "extremists" as many do, since the Koran clearly directs devout Muslims to attack and kill infidels, and America is known as the Great Satan to devout Muslims.

Many people are posting today and will post tomorrow their own views of this event. Borepatch has a couple of good video clips.

Until Muslims force changes to their religion so as to join with the modern world, as other religions have changed with the times, Islam is and will remain the enemy of Western civilization, and America in particular.

The First Amendment only refers to actual religions - not to political theories based on 1400-year-old totalitarian ideas. The sooner our "leaders" take this to heart, the sooner the people killed in this vicious attack will find justice.

Are we prepared NOW?

President Clinton systematically downsized our military and intelligence organs, so President Bush had much work to do to bring them back to reasonable strength. His job was not complete on 9/11/2001.

Al-Qa'ida may be down, but Islamo-Fascism 2.0 is thriving

"A universal peace ... is in the catalogue of events, which will never exist but in the imaginations of visionary philosophers, or in the breasts of benevolent enthusiasts." --James Madison
I'll Take It From Here
This Sunday marks the 10th anniversary of the 11 September 2001 attack on our nation by a terrorist cell of Islamic fascists. (If you were young and do not have a crystal-clear memory of that event, I suggest you link to our 9/11 retrospective page.)
It was a modern "date which will live in infamy" as Franklin Roosevelt said in regard to the attack on Pearl Harbor 60 years earlier. The two most significant similarities between Pearl and 9/11 are that we were wholly unprepared for both, and a like number of Americans were murdered.
After eight years of national security malfeasance under Bill Clinton's administration, and eight months of the newly installed George W. Bush administration's efforts to reorder national security priorities, only a handful of Americans were convinced that a deadly enemy had coalesced in our midst. Indeed, a well-organized terrorist cell had settled into American suburbs in the last years of Clinton's watch.
However, before noon on 9/11, it was tragically clear to all Americans that our vital national interests -- both the security of our homeland and the stability of our allies abroad -- were under assault. An enemy had declared war on the United States, and it was an asymmetric enemy better organized and more lethal than ever before.
