Good question

Why Does Obama Say Mideast Terrorists Aren't Islamic?

Has he concluded that the Muslim Brotherhood, which won Egypt's most open election ever, is "not Islamic"?

And what about Saudi Arabia? Is that country "not Islamic," too?
Oh, and what about Iran? Also "not Islamic"?
Isn't that a lot of Muslims, Muslim groups, and even nations — all of whom claim Islam as their religion — to dismiss as "not Islamic"?
Jugears has studied islam in that madrasa in Indonesia. He is either forgetting his lessons, or he's lying.

He's given us plenty of evidence that it's the latter.

Name change

Injun Summer

It's that time of year again:

INJUN SUMMER
John T. McCutcheon
Chicago Tribune
September 30, 1907

Yep, sonny this is sure enough Injun summer. Don't know what that is, I reckon, do you? Well, that's when all the homesick Injuns come back to play; You know, a long time ago, long afore yer granddaddy was born even, there used to be heaps of Injuns around herethousandsmillions, I reckon, far as that's concerned. Reg'lar sure 'nough Injunsnone o' yer cigar store Injuns, not much. They wuz all around hereright here where you're standin'.
Don't be skeeredhain't none around here now, leastways no live ones. They been gone this many a year.
They all went away and died, so they ain't no more left.
But every year, 'long about now, they all come back, leastways their sperrits do. They're here now. You can see 'em off across the fields. Look real hard. See that kind o' hazy misty look out yonder? Well, them's InjunsInjun sperrits marchin' along an' dancin' in the sunlight. That's what makes that kind o' haze that's everywhereit's jest the sperrits of the Injuns all come back. They're all around us now.
See off yonder; see them tepees? They kind o' look like corn shocks from here, but them's Injun tents, sure as you're a foot high. See 'em now? Sure, I knowed you could. Smell that smoky sort o' smell in the air? That's the campfires a-burnin' and their pipes a-goin'.
Lots o' people say it's just leaves burnin', but it ain't. It's the campfires, an' th' Injuns are hoppin' 'round 'em t'beat the old Harry.
You jest come out here tonight when the moon is hangin' over the hill off yonder an' the harvest fields is all swimmin' in the moonlight, an' you can see the Injuns and the tepees jest as plain as kin be. You can, eh? I knowed you would after a little while.
Jever notice how the leaves turn red 'bout this time o' year? That's jest another sign o' redskins. That's when an old Injun sperrit gits tired dancin' an' goes up an' squats on a leaf t'rest. Why I kin hear 'em rustlin' an' whisper in' an' creepin' 'round among the leaves all the time; an' ever' once'n a while a leaf gives way under some fat old Injun ghost and comes floatin' down to the ground. Seehere's one now. See how red it is? That's the war paint rubbed off'n an Injun ghost, sure's you're born.
Purty soon all the Injuns'll go marchin' away agin, back to the happy huntin' ground, but next year you'll see 'em troopin' backth' sky jest hazy with 'em and their campfires smolderin' away jest like they are now.

From his pipe the smoke ascending
Filled the sky with haze and vapor,
Filled the air with dreamy softness,
Gave a twinkle to the water,
Touched the rugged hills with smoothness,
Brought the tender Indian Summer
To the melancholy north-land,
In the dreary Moon of Snow-shoes.

Must have had a tee-time already reserved

Obama Declines to Attend Memorial Dedication for Disabled Veterans

President Barack Obama has declined to attend a dedication ceremony in October for a new memorial honoring American veterans who have been disabled fighting for their country in wars, according to sources close to the event.
I am sure that if he had attended, his speech would have been more "I, me, mine" than any sort of tribute to those who sacrificed under his "leadership"...

The truth will out

It only takes time:

After 30 Years Of Lies, NY Times Admits “Assault Weapons Are A Myth”

In a stunning op-ed released Friday, the NY Times finally admitted that “assault weapons” are a made-up political term fabricated by anti-gun Democrats.
Op-ed writer Lois Beckett also admitted that once the term was manufactured and used to outlaw a class of weapons that dishonest anti-gun Democrats had used to con an entire nation, nothing happened.
"dishonest anti-gun Democrats" - a tiny bit of redundancy?

A failure of will?

I just heard that Scotland has voted down independence.

I guess for the majority, remaining part of a sinking ship is less scary than self-determination.

When the Muslims get to large-scale beheading, that border wouldn't have mattered, anyway, and Great Britain now will not have to face immediate bankruptcy due to the national debt coming immediately due and payable.

A pity.

I bet you never thought of this!

Amazing things one sees in the "news":

New gun report: Criminals are bypassing background checks

Right from Bloomberg's Everytown for Gun Safety:
Everytown for Gun Safety on Wednesday published the results of an investigation in Washington that show most of the criminals in the state purchase firearms from the online marketplace to avoid background checks. Of the identified people seeking guns in unlicensed sales over the Internet, nearly one in 10 had been convicted of crimes that prevented them from legally possessing firearms, including rape domestic abuse, and assaulting police officers. The investigation also found that 44,000 guns are posted for sale annually on the Internet.
Of course, this is a flat-out lie that criminals mostly get guns from legal sellers - guns have been traded without background checks for centuries, and no criminal is going to pay the price a gun owner would ask for an on-line gun when there is a flourishing black market out there for stolen and illegally imported weapons.

In Beloit, reportedly, one only need go on Twitter and ask for one, and someone will show up to supply what is wanted. Rentals are supposedly common in gun-free areas like Chicago.

Leave it to the MSM to announce as if it was something shocking what any sane person who owns a gun knows.

At it again!

Recently, I posted about how Wisconsin's Voter ID law had been found Constitutional by a federal appeals court, and how Demonrats have been trying and trying to get it undone, lest they lose all those votes from people ineligible to vote.

Well, they are at it again - another appeal, and promises of "we will never give up!".

The Beloit Daily News reports that appeals like this rarely succeed. Let's hope they are right.

Your feel-good video for the week

Go here and watch - you won't regret it.

I never cease to be amazed at what people who take charge of their lives are capable of.

They never quit trying

Stopped at Farm and Fleet in Illinois yesterday after work to pick up some targets. The ammo section was right there, so I stopped to check out prices.

$56 for 100 rounds of .45 ACP. No .22 LR at all.

I noticed a paper taped to the edge of the top shelf - the obligatory "NO SALES WITHOUT A FOID CARD" - nothing unexpected. I asked the clerk there doing inventory about out-of-state sales - OK with a driver's license, supposedly.

Then I read the other slip of paper taped to the shelf - quotes from Ill-Annoys statutes banning sales of PISTOL AMMUNITION to anyone from out-of-state. I guess if you buy that box of .44 Magnum for your carbine you are A-OK. Beloit makes you sign a register for pistol ammo, but just tell them it's for a rifle and no signing required.

I knew Ill-Annoys was going to get revenge for having to pass CCW legislation, and that they wouldn't stop at making the license prohibitively expensive and non-reciprocal with any other state.

The real problem

Is ISLAM:

The Headchopper Next Door

Every week another lad or lass from St. Louis, Toronto or Sydney makes the trip through Turkey to the Islamic State. A reporter dispatched by a local paper to talk to the neighbors scribbles down the same recollections about how nice and normal Jihad Joe or Jihad Jane was.

Classmates remember a loud partier or a shy student. Neighbors mention that everything seemed normal until those last few years when he began wearing a robe and she began wearing a burka.

The Somali and Algerian immigrants, the German and American converts, the black burkas and dyed beards, headed into the dying summer to kill Christians and Kurds, Turkmen and Shiites, to behead babies and crucify critics, don’t seem like monsters. They loved their parents. They posed for jokey snapshots on Facebook. They had dreams of becoming biologists or boxers. Until they began killing people, they seemed just like the rest of us.

And with one difference, they were.

The forensic examinations of their lives rarely reveal anything of significance. The extensive digging into the lives of the Boston bombers told us nothing about why they would plant a bomb near a little boy.

The answer lay in the topic that the media carefully avoided. As with the other Muslim terrorists, the meaning of their motives was in the little black book of their religion which commanded them to kill.
Go read the whole thing. He nails it.

From Crowder:

The Muhammad quotes say it all - though they go past too fast to read easily.

Then there's this:

Dozens of Christians 'including women and children' are arrested in Saudi Arabia after tip-off to state's Islamist police force

Saudi Arabia is supposedly our ally? I seem to remember most, if not all, of the 9/11 attackers being Saudis...

There's an easy solution - we tell the world that upon the next beheading of an American by ISIS or any other Muslim group, that Islam has 30 days to bring the criminals to public trial in the United States and to eradicate whatever "jihad" they were obeying, or Mecca gets a MIRV warhead, ground zero being the Kaaba stone. They have 30 days to evacuate the people and move out anything they don't want turned into a glass bowl in the desert if they do not obey. Also, if there ever is another such incident, even if the perpetrators of the first one are surrendered and their "jihad" eradicated, another randomly selected Muslim city will be so blessed - with NO warning. Either they evolve into a true religion of peace and tolerance, or they die by attrition a few million at a time.

Every other religion on the planet has evolved past their time of murder in whatever god's name, if they had a violent era - it's about a thousand years overdue for Islam.

Wisconsin Voter ID lives!

The Beloit Daily news has an editorial today on how Wisconsin now will have to "scramble" to get Voter ID in place, now that the courts have made the final ruling on the subject.

Just sent in this as a comment:

If the Democrats spent 10% of the time and money they have wasted on recall attempts, busing in out-of-state people to demonstrate and wreck our Capitol, they could easily afford to get everyone in the state of Wisconsin a state ID.

If they hadn't sued and appealed and sued some more to attempt to get the law thrown out, perhaps we wouldn't be scrambling to get the system running before November.

When I lived in Illinois, I had to go in and sign up for a Voter ID card, which I had to show to vote - and Illinois has been doing that for decades.

If the Illinois Democratic machine can survive Voter ID, I am sure Wisconsin's can also.

Free-range chickens?

We have had chickens for over a year now. The chicken yard is completely bare of anything green.

While I was mowing today, I pulled part of the fence over some grass they hadn't been able to reach. In minutes, all the birds were busy pecking at the fresh grass.

I was thinking - farmers let their chickens run loose probably so they can feed cheaply without denuding anything. They will go back in the coop at dusk reliably - so why don't I let them loose?

While I was wondering this, a big hawk swooped down on the chicken yard, leveling out about a foot over the deer net I have strung up over the yard.

The chickens are staying in the yard, until I can figure out how to keep dive-bombing hawks from getting free chicken dinners. A hawk-chasing drone, maybe?

Sanity on the rise

Sometimes I hear news that makes me think that reason and sanity WILL prevail:

Missouri lawmakers override veto, expand gun rights in public schools, cities

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — Missouri lawmakers expanded the potential for teachers to bring guns to schools and for residents to openly carry firearms, in a vote Thursday that capped a two-year effort by the Republican-led Legislature to expand gun rights over the objection of the Democratic governor.
The new law will allow specially trained school employees to carry concealed guns on campuses. It also allows anyone with a concealed weapons permit to carry guns openly, even in cities or towns with bans against the open carrying of firearms. The age to obtain a concealed weapons permit also will drop from 21 to 19.
They missed passing a measure to nullify illegal, un-Constitutional federal gun laws, though.

Baby steps. I may live long enough to be living in a free country, after all.

Never forget

Thirteen years ago, Muslim true believers flew two aircraft into the World Trade Center towers in New York City, finishing a task they began in 1993 with a truck bomb. Two more planes put a hole in the Pentagon, and in a field in Pennsylvania, killing many more. The last plane missed its' target of either the White House or the Capitol because of the acts of Americans who attempted to retake the plane from the terrorists.

Virtually nothing has been done since to actually face this enemy, although billions have been spent on military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, and we are probably going to spend billions more in Syria, now. Thousands of Americans have been killed or maimed for little if any suppression of Muslim fanatic terror.

Make no mistake - Islam, as ordained in the Koran, is a deadly threat to all civilization on this planet.

Unless, and until, Muslim leaders publicly deny the Koran as written and evolve to live in peace as the great majority of human religions have over the last millennium, we will always have atrocities such as the beheadings recently broadcast by these Muslim true believers, and more terror such as 9/11. Islam openly promises this to America, and have demonstrated again and again in England, France, and other countries that their only goal is complete subjugation of all who do not bow to Allah.

Islamophobia is a survival mechanism. Learn your mortal enemy, and beware.

And never forget.

PSA

Saw a public service announcement for quitting smoking.

"Free help quitting smoking!"

Correction. The citizens of the United States who have incomes from their honest labor had the money for that "free help" stolen from their wages by the federal government's Internal Revenue Service. That PSA was produced at taxpayer expense. and the on-air time it took to broadcast it was paid for by the broadcaster forgoing an advertisement that could have brought in some money for the station.

TANSTAFFL. Especially when the government is involved.

"Gay marriage"

First off, I couldn't care less what consenting people do with their lives, if they don't rub my nose in it.

That said, recently a federal court ruled Louisiana's gay marriage ban "constitutional".

And this week, another federal court ruled Wisconsin's similar ban "unconstitutional".

Seems to me that all the states that had such "bans" ruled "unconstitutional" just need to copy Louisiana's wording and they are magically "constitutional".

But that is a side issue. The big thing to me is - exactly where in the US Constitution is the word "marriage" mentioned? Why should the federal courts even deem to hear such cases?

The only reasons I have ever been able to figure out that "marriage" is a concern of the various States is twofold. First, control of the population for taxation, second, to enforce laws prohibiting persons of certain classes from marrying persons of other classes - in other words, racial segregation.

I have one problem with the idea of "gay marriage" - words have meanings and those meanings should not be casually thrown away. "Marriage" is defined as a union between a man and a woman. Whatever "gays" do is NOT marriage by definition. Another example of liberals warping the language for their own purposes.

Speak out

Some idiots want Jugears to sign a law prohibiting the teaching of children firearm safety, even by their parents. By extension, no hunting under age 18.

So, go here: https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/make-it-unlawful-enact-child-and-firearms-safety-act/dkGWl6dr

16 signatures out of 100K so far.

I know, Jugears will ignore this, but we can at least get on another list by signing...

Jugears on my shoulder

Tripped over this:

Heh.

Had to edit and re-post a couple times to get THIS video up. Blogger wants to show the last one I posted, for some reason...
