1. A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law. 
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

Wisconsin City Police Refuse to Enforce Public Park Gun Ban

…Chief Beguhn reviewed the local ordinance after Karenz’s complaint and found that the ordinance is no longer valid.

According to GunsSaveLives.net, the chief said the ordinance is invalid because of Wisconsin’s “preemption laws on firearms.” He has ordered signs banning guns to be taken down and pledged that he will not enforce the ban even while the signs are up.

Wisconsin Carry receives credit for bringing the Wisconsin “preemption” to everyone’s attention, and Chief Beguhn has followed up by choosing not to enforce an outdated ordinance.

People these days are brainwashed into being scared to death the moment they see some guy with a gun on his hip. I’m glad that this small city has a police chief that refuses to be ruled by people’s irrational emotions and fears over guns.

The woman quoted does not think guns should be around children - I guess she would object to the police being anywhere near her kids?

It's refreshing to see some of our sworn peace officers refuse to enforce a blatantly illegal law!

I'm sure that every Chicago policeman, including my father, if he was still on this plane, would be surprised to know that as part of their duty, they were participating in the furtherance of murder...

Political appointees like McCarthy do not speak for the police - they speak for the mayor and the ruling political party - and the Demonrats will NEVER admit the fact that more guns in the hands of law-abiding people will bring a decrease in crime.

Celebrating "only 400-odd" murders as a good thing is insane. None of the guns involved in those murders acted alone - each was wielded by a criminal.

Gun-free Toys 'R' Us in Janesville

Went to Janesville with my wife today to return a train set she bought for our grandson - it was a duplicate of one he already has.

They have a "no weapons" sign posted, which I ignored, as I was carrying concealed.

I just fired off an email to their headquarters:

I went to your store in Janesville, Wisconsin today to return a train set my wife bought for Christmas - it was a duplicate of one the kids already have.

Noted the "no weapons" sign in the front window. This will prevent us from patronizing that store in the future, as we do not spend money at places that both deny the right of self-defense to their customers, and stupidly announce to the criminal world that they are posted as a "free fire" zone for any armed robber looking for an easy mark.

If and when you remove that useless notice from your stores, I may reconsider my decision to cease patronizing your business.

Wisconsin police chiefs call for tougher gun checks

MADISON, Wis. (AP) - Wisconsin's police chiefs are pushing to expand background checks on gun buyers.

The Wisconsin Chiefs of Police Association and the National Law Enforcement Partnership to Prevent Gun Violence plan to meet with Wisconsin U.S. Senate candidates on Monday and Tuesday to discuss potential federal legislation that would require buyers in private gun sales to undergo a background check.

Oregon, Wis., Police Chief Doug Pettit is chairman of the WCPA's legislative committee. He says currently only people who buy guns from a federally licensed dealer must pass a background check. He says expanding the requirement to all sales would prevent people who can't legally possess guns from obtaining them.

The chiefs association and the national gun violence prevention group plan to hold a news conference in Madison on Tuesday as well.

Got six "PayPal" emails all in a row in the spam folder that I just couldn't pass up:

All show the same shipping address.
All refer to "Thad Peterson".


The links all go to a non-functional URL. So - what was the point?

If you want to get someone to click on your spam email's links, perhaps you ought to write the robot script so it sends only ONE email to each recipient - and perhaps you could make it look like the charge actually was paid by the person receiving the email.

If you are smart enough to write the script that generates this, how much extra work would it be to make it less obviously a scam?

Duh.

I wonder if PayPal bothers to attempt prosecution of these idiots if they are ever caught. It would be a slam-dunk copyright infringement, not to mention interstate fraud.

Take stuff out of context, and have fun with it. The "guys with the guns" currently are the Osama administration. 

Lie like a rug. The NRA is not opposed to fighting terrorists, they only want the government to follow their own rules - namely, the Constitution.

Not one crime has ever been prevented by a gun trace - the best they can do is help convict the shooter long after the crime was committed. 

Allowing students to exercise their right to self-protection on campus is a no-brainer. How many young women are attacked and killed on campus? Those little blue lights over the "rape phones" I have seen on the Beloit College campus only promise that the second responders (police) will arrive too late to do more than draw a chalk line around the body, or transport the victim to the hospital. They truly do think a woman raped and strangled with her pantyhose is preferable to a dead rapist.

The "gun lobby" does not exist in the sense the Brady Bunch would have us believe it does. It consists of millions of Americans, each contributing their small share to organizations like the NRA.

The "Brady Bill" has not prevented one criminal from obtaining a gun since its' inception. It has only caught those stupid enough to attempt to purchase one through a legal dealer, and more often than not, that person was not prosecuted for attempting an illegal purchase. How do you get a statistic on events that have not happened, anyway? Not every illegal gun sale results in a shooting, let alone a death.

The "gun show loophole" does not exist. It is actually private citizens selling private property privately. It would not have prevented the Columbine shooters from stealing guns, or getting them through buyers willing to make a straw purchase. Again, one armed teacher might have prevented the whole incident.

There is no such thing as a "deadly assault ammo clip". No ammunition feeding device is dangerous unless you trip on it or try to insert it into a body orifice.

Only the very innocent or very stupid really think that "preventing loaded guns in schools and restaurants" would have any effect on public safety - after all, Columbine and Virginia Tech both occurred in places where guns were prohibited.

The Tucson shooter did not use a "military assault clip", since his Glock uses a magazine - and if he had been limited to a standard magazine, he would have simply carried a couple more of them to do his evil act. The size of the tool is immaterial - the use it is put to is all important.

The Fort Hood attacker was in the ARMY. He used standard magazines.

I had no idea there were 49 people shooting at Virginia Tech. I guess the Brady Bunch can't afford proofreaders.

 The ability of the "disturbed individual" to get hold of magazines was overshadowed by the fact that all of his victims were disarmed by school rules and at his mercy, where only one student or instructor with a personal weapon could have prevented many or all of the deaths and injuries.

Osama's "op-ed" sure was instrumental in getting all those laws passed, wasn't it? During his administration so far, Americans have regained many freedoms with respect to personal protection.

If we all just would get along...

Now for the tear-jerker on blue paper:

 

Colin has to live with his bullets and the images of all those bodies because of the efforts of people like the Brady Bunch who work ceaselessly to infringe on Americans' Constitutional and God-given right to armed self defense. One armed person could have saved him from those bullets, but he wants to make sure that the next nutcase who goes into a college with evil intent will have no opposition.

Again with the lie about the Brady Bunch not wanting to take anyone's guns - they just want to make sure that no one can legally obtain a weapon or carry it for self-defense. Criminals will not be bothered, as they get their weapons out of a car trunk at night in the kinds of places that Brady Bunch members don't go into.

Jim Brady was a collector of guns before he got shot - and I'm not sure that his wife is not the brains behind the whole works - along with a liberal application of money from that patriot, George Soros.

They didn't include a postage-paid envelope - perhaps they ARE getting smarter with age.

Concealed carry - invokes the thought of something hidden, that no one would realize you are carrying a weapon.

So, some enterprising folks want to capitalize on this.

Actually, the idea is you carry the sash in a little packet, and put it on after you pull your gun. That ought to be an interesting process to watch - juggling a loaded gun in the presence of bad guys while you try to unfurl this thing and get it over your head...

 A Miami Gardens transgender woman is facing charges of practicing medicine without a license after police say she injected a patient's rear with everything but the kitchen sink in an illegal cosmetic surgery procedure. 

 

Oneal Ron Morris, 30, was arrested Friday after an investigation by Miami Gardens Police and the Florida Department of Health.

According to police, the victim saw Morris in May and was injected in her buttocks with a substance consisting of cement, "Fix a Flat," mineral oil and super glue.

The amateur incision was then sealed with super glue, police said. The victim was later hospitalized with a serious medical condition as a result of the injections.

Morris, who police say is a man but appears to look like a woman and sports an apparently enhanced rear herself in arrest photos, was being held on $7,500 bond. it was unknown whether she has an attorney.

Police believe there may be other victims of Morris who may be afraid to come forward. They said the victims haven't done anything illegal and shouldn't be afraid to come forward.

A group of Muslim restaurant franchisees is fighting fast-food chain Popeyes Louisiana Chicken in court over the right to sell hand-slaughtered Halal meat for religious reasons.

The battle in Ontario Superior Court comes after the Atlanta-based franchise moved to replace the chicken supply with machine-killed birds in 14 Toronto restaurants. The company says it’s still Halal-certified; the franchisees claim the machine method is against the beliefs of a majority of Muslims.

“If I begin selling machine-slaughtered chicken, I will immediately lose an enormous segment of my customers,” reads the sworn affidavit from Abdul Haffejee, who owns eight Popeyes in the GTA.

Haffejee, who donates Popeyes chicken to mosques and sponsored Muslim Day at Canada’s Wonderland, said between 50 and 80 per cent of his customers are Muslim.

He took Popeye's word for the "halal" slaughter before - has he talked to Islam's version of a rabbi to find out if the new way of doing business is really "wrong"?

If I don't miss my guess, franchise owners are free to buy supplies from any source that meets the franchise requirements. If "halal" somehow is not in compliance with Popeye's rules - perhaps because some "halal" butchers have filthy shops and are good sources of food poisoning - well, he's screwed.

Note - I don't see where in our Constitution there is any mention of Canadians and their bringing suit in Canada. As far as businesses "catering" to religions (not that Islam is a "religion") - that's a business decision. If these franchises in Toronto generate sufficient income, I'm sure that the parent company would make changes to keep them happy
