The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence has joined forces with civil rights groups in both Mexico and the United States to stem the flow of illegal guns being trafficked from the United States into Mexico. According to a Government Accountability Office report more than 20,000, or 87 percent, of firearms seized by Mexican authorities and traced over the past 5 years originated in the U.S. Please sign the petition urging President Obama to take action to stop gun smuggling from the U.S. to Mexico. These actions do not require the approval of the U.S. Congress. In fact, President Obama is already moving forward on one of the actions to require reporting of multiple semi-automatic rifle sales in the border states. They seem to ignore the fact that one of the worst gunrunners is the US BATFE and DOJ. They also ignore the fact that the US guns NOT sent over the border by our own law enforcement agencies mostly came from thefts, not from gun stores or private sales, and certainly not from gun shows. Both of the other links go direct to Brady "documents" showing their crunching of statistics to support their goals. They could at least link to the raw data, but then people could make up their own minds, and lefty-liberals can't have that! H/t Days of our Trailers
