He's my (Demonrat) US Representative, and I sent him an email recently urging him to vote NO on any new infringement of our rights. Here's his reply:
So, I sat down and wrote this, which I just emailed to him:
Mark,
Thanks for the reply to my letter concerning new gun registration / regulation.
I want to bring one of your statements to your attention. You say "I fully support
the Second Amendment and I believe well regulated gun ownership is essential to
reduce violence in our communities".
This statement disturbs me, as the Second Amendment states "A well regulated Militia,
being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and
bear Arms, shall not be infringed." The preamble "A well regulated Militia, being
necessary to the security of a free State" is an explanation of why a free people's
right to keep and bear arms "shall not be infringed". It does not imply that gun
ownership should be "well regulated" in the modern sense.
It is a fact that every genocide committed in the 20th Century was preceded by gun
registration and confiscation. It is also a fact that none of the over 20,000 federal
and state gun laws have ever prevented one criminal fro obtaining and using a gun in
commission of a crime.
Every gun law in the United States has been a knee-jerk reaction by politicians eager
to be seen as "doing something" in the wake of a tragedy. The first federal law, the
1934 National Firearms Act, was in response to a very few instances of criminals such
as the Chicago Mob and Bonnie and Clyde using automatic weapons to commit crimes. Before
this law was passed, anyone could purchase a Thompson machine gun in the local hardware
store for a reasonable price. There were no school shootings. There were no mass murders
of civilians. Law-abiding Americans now had a $200 dollar tax on the tools of freedom. In
common terms, this is known as an "infringement", and is illegal under the Constitution.
A Supreme Court case - Miller - could have overturned this infringement had the defendant
appeared before the Court with his attorney, and if the US counsel not hedged the truth in
his testimony. The question was wether a shotgun was a military weapon, and therefore,
something a militia member would use. There was no mention of hunting.
The 1968 Gun Control Act, modeled after the German gun control laws of the 1930's, was
enacted in response to the shootings of JFK, RFK, and Martin Luther King. Before this
law was passed, anyone with the cash could order anti-tank rifles and ammunition to be
delivered to their front door anywhere in the USA. There were no cases of people
committing atrocities with these freely-available guns. All this act did was to create
a massive bureaucracy and make it more difficult - "infringe" - on American's Second
Amendment rights. This act brought the "sporting purposes" idea into gun control. Before
1968, no one thought hunters and target shooters were the only legitimate reasons for
private gun ownership.
In 1986, President Reagan signed the "Firearm Owner's Protection Act" ostensibly to protect
gun owners from prosecution under local (un-Constitutional) gun laws while traveling.
Unfortunately, an amendment attached at the last moment banned the future manufacture and
sale of fully automatic weapons to private citizens. Machine guns are still available
to the general public, but every one was registered with the BATFE before 1986, and there will
never be a new automatic weapon design by a private citizen until this law is repealed. Not
one mass murder has been prevented by this law, or ever will be.
In 1994, the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act was signed by President Clinton. This
infringement prevents Americans from obtaining freedom's tools quickly without begging
the government for permission. What better definition of "infringe" could there be than
forcing people to beg for their right ot self-defense? Columbine, Virginia Tech, and
Newtown all were not prevented by this infringement.
In short, no law will ever prevent a crime, as criminals ignore the law. Further
attempts at "gun control" will only result in the further loss of freedom of Americans at
the least, and may open the way for genocide here as it has so often in the past.

Rep. Amy Loudenbeck
This lady is a real people's representative. I wish she was still in my assembly district.
She got the email from Remington I sent yesterday, and took the time to not only respond to someone out of her district, she forwarded it to Ms. Ringhand.
And responded almost instantly to my response thanking her.
My response to her:
I now have Janis Ringhand (D) as my assembly rep, due to redistricting. Aside from the (D), I really have no good idea what her stand on our basic rights is - or if she's ever read the Bill of Rights and understood it.
If I get a reply from her, I'll certainly post it.

My response to her:
Her almost instant reply:Thanks, Amy, I appreciate the forward. That was a canned email from a web site - I wish I could have edited the message. We do NOT need any new laws, least of all more background checks and registration - as registration is a necessary prerequisite to confiscation, as history has told us many times - and confiscation is often followed by genocide. I wish we had a full house of people like her.Hi Chuck! Yes, I understand and will work to protect your second amendment rights, regardless of what district you live in! Sincerely, Amy Loudenbeck Representing Wisconsin's 31st Assembly District (608) 266-9967 rep.loudenbeck@legis.wi.gov

Progress in Illinois
The critters in Springfield are crafting a concealed carry law, as ordered to by a federal court, and the order upheld in appeal. As usual for Ill-Annoys, they have made it as obtuse and useless as possible while possibly satisfying the letter of the court order.
Illinois House Bill 1155
Amendments backed by the NRA and other gun rights organizations are out there - but the Chicago Machine rules in Ill-Annoys, so hopes for a useful CCW law there are dim in my view. Still, ANY CCW law is marginally better than none at all - but I bet anyone attempting to carry in Chicago will find out first hand what the Crook County Jail looks like form inside - and spend $$$ to get free - and probably never see his weapon again...

Remington makes it easy to write your CONgresscritters.
The only gripe I have is that the message is not editable, and includes a couple of points I would personally remove - and I can't copy the message to show you. You'll have to go to their site and see for yourself.
I would follow up with individual messages - better yet posted letters and phone calls - to your personal CONgresscrittters - even if they are dyed-in-the-wool useless liberals like my own dear Senator Tammy Gay Baldwin...

Milwaukee Day of Resistance
Went to the Milwaukee Day of Resistance rally Saturday with the Wisconsin III% Militia. Bone-chilling wind. About 60 people showed up. I took some pictures:
Deputy State Commander Jake Schmidt speaking.
Forgive the shaky camera work - my first time using the Handycam I bought that morning.
Milwaukee TV 4 was there. We got some good coverage. I was interviewed by an independent reporter on audio.

Living in a dream
Joe Biden, of course:
Biden: Public Sentiment Has Turned on Gun Rights Lobby
The public is getting disgusted with the antics of Jugears and his court jester - but the success of the Demonrats in the field of voter fraud may make the opinions of the majority moot.U.S. Vice President Joe Biden, speaking 10 miles (16 km) from the site of the Connecticut elementary school massacre, argued on Thursday that public opinion had turned against the gun rights lobby. "I say it's unacceptable not to take this on. ... I believe the price to be paid politically is for those who refuse to act," Biden told a conference on gun violence in his first visit to the area since a gunman killed 20 school children and six adults in the nearby town of Newtown on Dec. 14.
In the fiery speech, Biden argued that there is “a moral price to be paid for inaction," and tried to shame lawmakers who are hesitant about voting for President Obama’s gun-control agenda.
“I can’t imagine how we will be judged as a society if we do nothing,” he said. “If you’re concerned about your political survival, you should be concerned about the survival of our children. And guess what? I believe the price to be paid politically should go to those who refuse to act. . . . The American people are with us.”
Good news!
Demonrats are running scared!
Dear Chuck,
You have to see this:
According to respected political scientist Larry Sabato, 13 of the 15
"most imperiled" Senate seats in 2014 are being defended by Democrats.
If we lose just six seats, Republicans will take over the Senate -- and we cannot let that happen.
National Republicans are already coming at us with everything they've got. Republican-affiliated super PACs are being created left and right. Karl Rove just announced he's already raised $328 million for 2014. And in Kentucky, he is even running attack ads against someone who -- get this -- isn't even a candidate.
So, today, we're launching the PAC for a Change 2014 Fund with the goal to raise $100,000 in one week -- to jump start our efforts to protect the Democratic Senate majority.
Will you contribute $10 to help us reach our $100,000 goal -- so we can start defending our Democratic majority right away?
Every day, Democratic candidates are asking PAC for a Change for our help, because they know that -- together -- we deliver. Thanks to you, we made history in 2012. No one thought we would keep our Democratic majority, but we expanded it. In the face of a relentless Republican War on Women, we responded by electing more women to the Senate than ever before.
I know it's tempting to celebrate our victories and rest on our laurels, but we can't afford to do that -- not even for a minute.
The stakes are just too high:
We can't allow that to happen, and that's why we must act now.
Will you contribute $10 to help us reach our $100,000 goal before next Saturday -- and get our PAC for a Change 2014 Fund off to a strong start?
Time and again, we've defied the odds, proved the pundits wrong, and secured victories that moved our country forward. It's time to do it again.
In friendship,
Barbara Boxer

Sorry, Babs, your time is up, and people are getting smart to your corruption and voter fraud.

The stakes are just too high:
- Last week, Senate Republicans filibustered the nomination of their former colleague Chuck Hagel, President Obama's choice to head the Defense Department, and a GOP war hero no less. It's the first time in history a secretary of defense nominee has been filibustered. Outrageous.
- Republicans are ready, once again, to lead our economy off the cliff by refusing to avert the so-called “sequester,” which would cost us more than 1 million jobs.
- Congressional Republicans continue to block the Violence Against Women Act -- putting countless women and families in danger.
We can't allow that to happen, and that's why we must act now.

Letter to the editor
Another one to the Beloit Daily News:
A phrase in a story on the front page of Saturday's paper caught my eye - "gun violence".
There is no such thing as "gun violence" - it's a manufactured term used to demonize an inanimate object.
There is violence caused by nature, by animal attacks, and by human action. There is no possibility of a firearm causing violence without some person being involved.
If "gun violence" exists and is so dire a threat as to require re-writing our Constitution, why do we not see articles about an equally deadly threat to Americans of all ages - "automobile violence"?
The latest statistics I can find show driving or riding in a car gives almost the same risk as being shot - and the firearms death statistic includes criminal acts as well as police shootings. The risk to drivers and passengers is a bit higher, actually - source: http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/fastats/injury.htm
So - where's the huge media outcry to limit "assault cars" and require background checks before issuing driver's licenses? Driving is nowhere mentioned in our Constitution - "arms" have their very own Amendment stating "...the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed".

Virginia Beach pizza shop offering discount to gun owners
Virginia Beach, Va. – Slice by slice, one Virginia Beach pizza shop is showing its support for the Second Amendment by offering fifteen percent off pies to gun owners.
“All they have to do is show me that they’re carrying a weapon or they can show me their concealed weapons permit and they can get the discount,” says All Around Pizza owner, Jay Laze.
Laze started the offer after a Utah frozen yogurt shop made headlines earlier this month for also giving gun toters discounts.
Frozen yogurt company gives discounts to gun owners
“I thought it was a great idea and I was wondering why nobody here was doing it,” he says. “It should be happening all around the country.”Why don't we see similar offers in Beloit?
Time to spread the word!

The Second Amendment has always had fair-weather friends. LaRue Tactical, manufacturers of firearms and firearm accessories, is one company that will never be accused of being our fair-weather friend. When New York State passed its unconstitutional anti-gun law, LaRue swung into action. In a move reminiscent of Barrett Firearms’ banning of all sales to California law enforcement (http://www.thegunzone.com/rkba/rkba-50.html) after California banned .50BMG rifles, LaRue has stated that it will not sell anything to local law enforcement that it can’t sell to you and me.
In a news release dated 2-8-13, LaRue states:
Lest you think that LaRue, more famous for accessories than anything else, is making an empty statement, take a look at the AR style rifles they manufacture (http://www.laruetactical.com/rifles). New York banned them for sale to citizens, so LaRue won’t sell them to the NYPD either. Will other firearm manufacturers have the guts to stand up like LaRue and Barrett do?
The NYPD allows officers to select one of three firearms for duty carry: (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_York_City_Police_Department#Firearms):

Recently New York rushed an ill-advised and unconstitutional law infringing on the rights of law-abiding gun owners. Other states are poised to write similar laws. I urge you to follow the lead of LaRue Tactical which has adopted this policy: If it can’t be sold to law-abiding citizens, it won’t be sold to state and local police agencies either.
There are 800,000 sworn police officers in the entire United States. The FBI reports a total of 2,495,440 NICS checks, and thus firearms sales, in January alone. Cuomo consults experts!
The guy who just signed the biggest violation of the Second Amendment in the history of the State of New York is not working in a vacuum - when he needs advice, he goes to the world's most recognized expert on the subject:
Don't forget that pimple on Lake Michigan, either. Put up a Berlin-style wall with checkpoints at all the interstates crossing the Crook County line, and allow no one in except registered Democrats - and no one out except those willing to swear allegiance to the Constitution of the United States...
Under Pressure From ‘Expert’ Yoko Ono, Gov. Cuomo Delays Decision on Fracking
Yes, we know what you’re thinking — Yoko Ono? For real? What, you didn’t know she was an expert on hydraulic fracturing? The heck with secession - can we EXPEL NY and CA from the Union?
Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo is becoming Hamlet on the Shale.Controversial? Well, only with extremist nutcases like Matt Damon and this washed up hag whose only relevance is she married John Lennon about 43 years ago. But these lunatics kick up enough fuss and a vacillating twit like Cuomo, who has further ambitions beyond Albany, has to play the hard-left base of his party. So screw the economy.
On Tuesday, Mr. Cuomo’s administration again delayed making a decision on whether to allow hydraulic fracturing, a controversial drilling method used to extract natural gas from rock formations like the Marcellus Shale, which extends from the Appalachian Mountains to New York.

If They Come for Your Guns, Do You Have a Responsibility to Fight?
Our framers were very clear on this. If my government comes to take my guns, they are violating one of my constitutional rights that is covered by the 2nd amendment.
It is not my right, at that point, but my responsibility to respond in the name of liberty. What I am telling you is something that many are trying to soft sell, and many others have tried to avoid putting into print, but I am going to say it. The time for speaking in code is over.
If they come for our guns then it is our constitutional right to put them six feet under. You have the right to kill any representative of this government who tries to tread on your liberty. I am thinking about self-defense and not talking about inciting a revolution. Re-read Jefferson’s quote. He talks about a “last resort.” I am not trying to start a Revolt, I am talking about self-defense. If the day for Revolution comes, when no peaceful options exist, we may have to talk about that as well. None of us wants to think about that, but please understand that a majority can not take away your rights as an American citizen. Only you can choose to give up your rights.
Congress could pass gun ban legislation by a 90%+ margin and it just would not matter. I think some people are very unclear on this. This is the reason we have a Supreme Court, and though I do not doubt that the Supreme Court can also become corrupt, in 2008 they got it right. They supported the constitution. It does not matter what the majority supports because America is not a democracy. A constitutional republic protects the rights of every single citizen, no matter what their “elected servants” say. A majority in America only matters when the constitution is not in play.Read the whole thing, as usual.
Gun laws - civil disobedience
Would New Gun Laws Spark Widespread Civil Disobedience?
In his State of the Union address, President Obama doubled down on his gun-control proposals, again demanding that Congress ban so-called “assault weapons” and “high capacity magazines.” This is not a surprise. What has been a surprise are the increasingly open calls for defiance from gun owners, state legislatures, and local law enforcement. If the president’s proposals become law, he may move the country into turbulent waters we haven’t seen in many years.
Gun control has long been a controversial issue in American politics. However, there are three aspects to this issue that make this more volatile than other hot topics such as taxes, foreign policy, or abortion:Go read the whole thing.
1) The strongest advocates of each side hold fundamentally irreconcilable positions. On one hand, committed gun-control advocates say: “No one should be allowed to own certain weapons.” On the other hand, equally committed gun-rights advocates say: “No way in hell are we giving up these weapons.”
2) Ordinary Americans have declared their willingness to disobey the law.New York state has already passed laws similar to Obama’s proposals. Gun owners there are now organizing a campaign of open civil disobedience, daring state officials to “come and take” their rifles. State officials already acknowledge that they will be unable to enforce the new law.
3) Local law enforcement officials and state governments have also vowed civil disobedience.Over 280 sheriffs and eight state sheriffs’ associations have vowed to protect citizens’ Second Amendment rights against new gun laws.
The Utah Sheriffs’ Association used unusually strong language:
We, like you, swore a solemn oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States, and we are prepared to trade our lives for the preservation of its traditional interpretation.Similarly, several state legislatures are considering laws to stop federal officials from enforcing new gun laws within their jurisdictions, including Missouri, Wyoming, and North Dakota.
Levin: US preparing for societal collapse by buying up billions of rounds of ammo [AUDIO]
On Friday’s night broadcast of his radio show, Mark Levin speculated that the federal government is stockpiling ammunition to ensure the rule of law in the event of a total societal and economic collapse.
On Feb. 8, Investor’s Business Daily editorial writer Andrew Malcolm penned a piece about the Department of Homeland Security amassing what he called “sufficient firepower to shoot every American about five times –including illegal immigrants,” or more than 1.6 billion bullets.
“I’m going to tell you what I think is going on,” Levin said. “I don’t think insurrection. Law enforcement and national security agencies — they play out multiple scenarios. They simulate multiple scenarios. I’ll tell you what I think they’re simulating: the collapse of our financial system, the collapse of our society and the potential for widespread violence, looting, killing in the streets, because that’s what happens when an economy collapses.”Audio clip at the link.
Soveriegn citizen
the new and triumphant "yankee doodle dandy" ..... the sovereign citizen ..... for, we are in fact, in theory and in law sovereign .....
for, my dear friends, we citizens of this great country are in fact, in theory, and in law, sovereign. we are our own emperors, in perhaps rude and humble clothes, but we wear our mantle and our raiment's proudly.
and, we are sovereign.
we rule ourselves. and, we are governed solely to the extent that we agree and accept the governance.
we retain the right to rebuke usurpers, at the point of a bayonet and at the barrel of a gun, if we so choose.
we are, indeed, sovereign citizens.
in his arrogance and hubris obama, his minions, his ilk, his supporters, forget this. we shall remind them, if necessary to assert our sovereignty, with bullet and cold steel.
so, i proudly accept the mantle of "sovereign citizen." for that is precisely what i am. sovereign in my own home. sovereign on the soil that i trod every day. and, distinctly sovereign over and above the pretenders and usurpers.
they don't like it? well, then, bring in on, assholes. bring it on. come get my gun, if you can.

Politician moves to make vulgar Photoshopping illegal
He fulminated to Fox News: "No one has a right to make fun of anyone. It's not a First Amendment right."I beg to differ, Rep. Smith - that's EXACTLY what the First Amendment protects, among other things.

Missouri Democrats Introduce Legislation to Confiscate Firearms – Gives Gun Owners 90 Days to Turn in Weapons
Here’s part of the Democratic proposal in Missouri:Does this stuff come straight from Soros?
4. Any person who, prior to the effective date of this law, was legally in possession of an assault weapon or large capacity magazine shall have ninety days from such effective date to do any of the following without being subject to prosecution:UPDATE: It’s not just Missouri…
(1) Remove the assault weapon or large capacity magazine from the state of Missouri;
(2) Render the assault weapon permanently inoperable; or
(3) Surrender the assault weapon or large capacity magazine to the appropriate law enforcement agency for destruction, subject to specific agency regulations.
5. Unlawful manufacture, import, possession, purchase, sale, or transfer of an assault weapon or a large capacity magazine is a class C felony.

The Post in Which I Piss Off EVERYBODY.
A taste:I believe the Second Amendment guarantees an individual right to keep and bear arms. The Supreme Court agrees with me, which means that right is as valid as abortion, sexual privacy, protest and speech.
This should mean that strict scrutiny applies, meaning the government needs to prove the fabric of society itself is at risk before limiting it. Just as the Press has the right to broadcast troop movements it can see or acquire, regardless of casualties, I have the right to own weapons, regardless of how someone else may act. "Someone might get hurt" is an invalid excuse for restriction.
In fact, it's easy enough to prove that freedom of the press HAS caused harm and even death to people, whether it's troop movements, or the address of a person of interest.
The rights of gays to relate as they wish brings the risk of AIDS (60% of all cases are from gay relations, not drugs or medical contamination.)
It's provable that if we required proof of need before awarding a driver's license, we'd have less car accidents.
So, the argument that "guns kill people" is null and irrelevant to the discussion. Lots of things kill people. That's not relevant to our civil rights.

Sovereign citizen?
BB is watching:
Big Brother to monitor 'sovereign citizens'
With almost no media coverage, the White House last week announced its new Interagency Working Group to Counter Online Radicalization to Violence that will target not only Islamic terrorists but so-called violent “sovereign citizens.”
The FBI defines “sovereign citizens” as “anti-government extremists who believe that even though they physically reside in this country, they are separate or ‘sovereign’ from the United States.”
The law enforcement agency noted such citizens believe they don’t have to answer to any government authority, including courts, taxing entities, motor vehicle departments or police.
The FBI warned that sovereign citizens commit murder and physical assault; threaten judges, law enforcement professionals and government personnel; impersonate police officers and diplomats; and engineer various white-collar scams, including mortgage fraud and so-called “redemption” schemes.Beware.
