The tyrant rants

Looks like Jugears is getting testy:

Obama orders the IRS to shutdown non profits that speak out against him

One of those websites that prohibits quoting - go read.
In another dictatorial move to squelch any and all opposition to his socialist dictatorship, President Obama’s administration has ordered the IRS to take action against all non-profits classified as social welfare 501(c)4 groups involved in political activities.  This move appears to be targeting conservative groups and PACs such as Crossroads GPS and Priorities USA, both of which have been very vocal in their opposition to Obama and his policies.
On Tuesday, the IRS and Treasury Department offered up a new set of rules that would forbid non-profit organizations from being involved in any ‘candidate-related political activity.’  The banned activities would include registering voters, distributing campaign literature and running campaign related advertisements.

UN coming for our guns?

Maybe:

UN Troops Told To Kill Americans That Don’t Give Over Their Guns

New information has come to light as Obama continues his unconstitutional drive toward stricter gun control.  We all remember how after the tragedy at Sandy Hook quite the uproar was heard throughout the country and whether stricter gun laws would help.  This was met with strong opposition, and immediately shut down the government’s attempts of hindering the second amendment.
Unfortunately one state was able to infringe on these freedoms when the NY SAFE Act was signed into law.
After Obama was silenced on the issue, he took the only other way he knew how.  Instead of going through our country’s court, he is attempting to pass a law through the World’s Court – the UN.

Standing offer

I said this a while back - "give me your "smart gun" and I'll make it work like a regular firearm in a hour".

OK. Looks like I might be able to hope for a test of my claim - all I need is for these folks to ship me a sample.

Armatix GmbH intends to market a "smart gun" here. Story at Alphecca. Their first model is a .22, but larger calibers are easy once you have a mechanism worked out.

A 2002 New Jersey law makes use of this mandatory for anyone in that People's Republik wanting to purchase a handgun within three years after the "smart" gun goes on the market.

Aside from the obvious conflict with the Second Amendment, this is a disaster waiting to happen. If the police are armed with these, look for some smart hacker to develop an area jammer that will disable all RF controlled "smart" guns within range. Following that, look for the police being targeted by criminals wanting to steal these guns, and modify them to shoot uncontrolled by the neat digital watch. If the gun is equipped with their "Target Response System", hackers could make themselves a "no shoot" zone. From their website:
The gun only functions if you are recognized and on target.
  • If you are aiming away from the target area, the pistol is immediately deactivated.
  • No misuse against people or objects around you.
Armatix target shooting with no compromise on safety!

I'm going to send a request for a sample to these folks. I'll let you know the response, if any - and if I do get hold of one, I'll be careful to document my investigation and success or lack thereof.

Here's what I sent on their contact page:
I am a consulting electrical engineer, federally licensed firearms dealer, gunsmith and blogger. I have a standing offer to anyone claiming a "smart gun" - give me a sample, and I'll hack it to work like a regular "dumb" gun.

If you feel up to the challenge, let me know and I'll send my FFL number and such. If I succeed, the procedure and results will be published in my blog http://beloitballistics.blogspot.com/
If I fail, I'll publish that fact, also.

I believe a "smart gun" is an impossibility given modern technology, and will only result in people taking needless risks or being endangered by system failures or hackers. Let's see if you can prove me wrong.
I've never made a YouTube video - this might be my big break!

Open carry in Neenah, Wisconsin

Recently in Neenah, two guys were out for a walk, one carrying a rifle. Somewhat unusual in downtown Neenah, perhaps, but nothing to get all worked up over.

First we have the 911 call that triggered the incident:

And the dashcam from the responders:

The officer gets a bit wordy here, but he's got something of a point. PSH do fear people carrying weapons.

The solution is not to hide our weapons but to desensitize the public to regular carry. This should not be seen as am unusual situation.

This cop tells us that if he sees me "walk into a gas station" carrying, he's going to cap me. I guess I've been really lucky, since I've open carried into several Beloit gas stations - and never got a look, except for the clerk with the Middle Eastern accent who wanted me to show him my gun - I declined...

Must read speech

Utah Senator Mike Lee addressed the Heritage Foundation recently. His speech needs to be read by every American and especially by all of our "leaders"

The concept of "America" has been a "war on poverty" from the beginning - LBJ's formal "war on poverty" has been a resounding failure - as are all socialist / big government projects in the end.

If we heed Senator Lee's advice, the only people left in poverty will be those who refuse to do anything about it.

Freedom of association

It's ironic - here in Wisconsin we have a law "stripping" public unions of much of their power to blackmail and extort pay increases and benefits from the taxpayers. This law is, of course, being contested by the people who would have to live within the budgets the people of Wisconsin can afford, otherwise.

I just heard one sound bite of a union member telling us that the Constitution prohibits laws that affect "freedom of association" - so membership in unions should be protected.

OK, I'll accept that anyone has a right to associate with anyone they choose. Allowing that association the power to command the people to pay them does not seem to be mentioned anywhere in the Constitution that I can find.

As much as I abhor what FDR did to our country with his "New Deal", he at least had the intelligence to prohibit public unions - so there was no extortion until Wisconsin led the way with allowing public unions in the late '50's.

It's also ironic that the same people who are screaming for the "right to associate" as they will are likely also those who support things like the new push for "ENDA" in CONgress - a law that will further prohibit people from associating as they desire.

Religion of peace?

Perhaps, for some values of "peace" - but definitely a religion of grand theft from anyone who isn't a devout Muslim (of the right polarity).

U.S. imam: Muslims can take the property of Christians and Jews

In his sermon/lecture in the YouTube audio below, Qadhi begins by calling Christians “shirk” for being “polythesists” who believe in the Triune God, instead of Islam’s “monotheist” god Allah. Since “there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah wuzza wuzza,” Christians are “by necessity and by definition … the most evil of all evils.” Like all “unbelievers” and “polytheists.” Christians are “filthy.” They are ”najusa” (feces, urine) — “a filthy impure dirty substance.”
Then Qadhi declares that the prophet Mohammad — and by extension all Muslims — “has been commanded to do jihad.”
What is jihad?
Jihad “is a means to establish monotheism on the land.” The prophet had said, “I have been commanded to fight the people until they” convert to Islam. But “if they don’t [convert to Islam,] their life and property are halal [free for the taking] for the Muslims.”

Their own words. This is what a devout Muslim believes.

When will our government take notice of what is happening right here, right now?

Well, as long as we have a Muslim-loving president, never.

When "mainstream" Islam begins to publicly disavow people like Qadhi, I'll start to believe they might be thinking of peaceful co-existence with other religions. Until then:

The power has to come from SOMEWHERE

and solar plus wind ain't going to do it:

California's First-in-Nation Energy Storage Mandate

California has adopted the United States' first energy storage mandate, requiring the state's three major power companies to have electricity storage capacity that can output 1325 megawatts in place by the end of 2020, and 200 MW by the end of next year. The new rule issued by the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) will be key to implementation of the state's ambitious renewable portfolio rules, which calls for 33 percent of delivered electricity to come from renewable sources by 2020 and virtually guarantees that California, along with Germany, will remain in the world vanguard of those aggressively building out wind and solar.
[Editor's note: For an explanation of why the mandate is expressed in units of power instead of energy follow this link.]
By common expert consent, wind and solar can only reach their full potential if storage is provided for, as otherwise little-used generating capacity must be held in reserve for the times the wind does not blow and the sun does not shine. California's landmark rule was written by Commissioner Carla Peterman, newly appointed to the CPUC late last year by Governor Jerry Brown.
Even with "storage" - and this mandate requires the use of the most expensive methods available, instead of older, less "efficient" means like pumping water into a high reservoir and using hydroelectric generators.

Those batteries either use expensive and dangerous chemicals like lithium compounds, or they use cheap and dangerous chemicals like lead and sulfuric acid. Knowing Kalifornia, you can guess which technology will be chosen. Batteries also have a finite life - someone will have to pay to replace them regularly, and dispose of or recycle the old cells.

Flywheels with energy density high enough to be worthwhile are essentially big fragmentation grenades. Engineers know that highly stressed structures tend to fail spectacularly, and spend a lot of time on designing containment structures - that cost a lot of money and energy to produce.

We have ample energy available in nuclear and future thorium-nuclear power plants. For the interim, "clean coal" technology exists that can also provide the thorium cycle with fuel.

We had clean, safe nuclear power available twenty years ago, in the form of the Argonne Labs' IFR project - that was killed by President Clinton, at a cost higher than allowing the project to be completed would have been.

(Damn, Slick Willie has a lot to answer for - he killed the Superconducting Supercollider in Texas, too. So many Demonrat Presidents have done so much to hamstring humanity's advance...)

It does not suit the plans of the New World Order and the international Communist movement to allow the use of energy sources that are cheaper and truly sustainable, because these sources tend to make people independent of governments. Wind farms and solar farms can only exist with governmental subsidies - no corporation on Earth would touch these technologies in the volume they exist today unless they were getting healthy amounts of money from somewhere - and turbines and solar farms can never economically justify themselves.

I would love to see an accounting of how much dirty energy is required to produce one wind farm turbine - versus how much "clean" energy that turbine will produce over it's lifetime. Or, how much energy and toxic waste is involved in making a lithium cell for commercial energy storage. Is there a break-even, or a net loss?

Here's why we need Voter ID laws

Evidence of Widespread Voter Fraud Found in Virginia Governor’s Race

Richmond, VA–Merely hours after the close of a bitter and divisive Governor’s race in Virginia that saw Democrat Terry McAuliffe pull out a win over Republican Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli, irregularities in voting data have emerged.  According to mainstream media outlets McAuliffe supposedly defeated Cuccinelli in a razor-thin 47-46 percent victory to become the next Governor of the great state of Virginia.
Immediately following the announcement, Cuccinelli’s office opened a full investigation into the legitimacy of the vote and quickly turned up surprising results.  In 13 districts, multiple instances of intimidation at the polls were reported.  Large black men wearing traditional Black Panther garb were reported lingering around polling places approaching older voters asking questions about who they intended on voting for.  In Loudoun and Fairfax counties (traditional Democratic strongholds), election officials withheld submitting voter data in order to get an idea of whether to count absentee ballots or not.  In an audit of the voter registration information, it quickly became apparent that MULTIPLE votes were cast by people who were either deceased or had long ago moved out of the district.
According to exit polling Cuccinelli won the race by big margins reaching a high percent of the key voting blocks of women, Latinos and Blacks.
Cuccinelli was a target of large amounts of out of state financing as the Democrats set out to make the race be a referendum against the Tea Party movement.  McAuliffe got a late boost from Bill and Hillary Clinton, as well as Joe Biden, who campaigned hard for the Democrat.
The Demonrats know full well that they will lose in a fair election - so they cheat.

Here in Wisconsin we hear that we don't need Voter ID because there's no cheating - but I remember reading in the Chicago Tribune back when Clinton, or maybe Gore, was running for President, that Demonrat "community organizers" were providing rides to the polls and passing out cigarettes on Milwaukee's Skid Row equivalents.

As long as a photo ID is required to get EBT or Medicaid, or to buy booze, a photo ID should be required to vote

Liar!

COINTELPRO

Sipsey Street Irregulars has some good advice for anyone concerned about our country and wanting to do something about it...

Praxis: Musings on Counterintelligence, Cockroaches and Rats.

Agents provocateur can be similar to snitches but generally are brighter, higher-functioning, more sociopathic. The best ones are charismatic, but deeply serious about the cause. They are constantly urging action, warning of dangers, casting doubts on other group members, etc. Good APs are hard to find, so Feds often reuse them under different names with other groups across the country. He may have left one group because it wasn't "hardcore" enough, or claims to have had a falling out with the leadership over principle.
With all of these the best defense is the individual Threepers' moral center that I talked about above. DPAs, SCI,s snitches and APs all count on human weaknesses -- without that moral center, if they scare someone enough they can guide them into making threatening statements, taking steps to do something illegal, etc. The principal method used is the "what if they do this, then we should do that" hypothetical discussion. NEVER -- EVER -- GET SUCKED INTO HYPOTHETICALS. If you know who you are and Who you serve then it is harder for the evil bad guys to sucker you into betraying those principles. They may have the latest threatening news of some intended raid, with just enough detail to make it plausible. Beyond a certain heightened awareness, do not react. If you have good relations with the local sheriff, report the threat to him. If someone tries to draw you in to a can't miss deal on an automatic weapon or explosives, do the same thing. Do NOT call the Feds. Remember, they're the ones who sent you the puke to begin with in order to entrap you.
Why do you think the FBI does not record interviews (even though it is high-tech and extremely efficient and precise), but uses two agents to do the interviews and write down afterward what they claim was said? The report is called an FD-302, and they can, after the fact, make it say whatever they want since it is the word of the two of them against the one of you.
I remember vividly the advice that the retired Marine counterintelligence officer once gave me. When dealing with people who approach you, always ask yourself two questions:
1. Why is this guy telling me this?
2. Why is this guy telling me this NOW?
Another important caution, again from the Bible: "Take not counsel of your fears." DPAs, SCI's and APs all count on fear to make you do things you otherwise would not. Just keep doing what you're doing and don't take your eye off the ball. If you feel the need to do SOMETHING then go train, meet and greet with potential political allies, have a cook-out BUT DON'T REACT. A reaction is what they are looking for. Deny it to them.
And don't forget the antiseptic qualities of bright light. If you are not in a position to do that yourself, pass the knowledge on to someone who can.
Our jug-eared "leader" (and his predecessors!) have given the secret police (FBI, Homeland Security) directions to seek out "domestic terrorists" - defined, of course as anyone who believes that America is a country with a government of the people, by the people, and for the people, not a tyranny where you can be fined for not buying government-mandated "health insurance" or jailed for having freedom's tools without Big Brother's explicit permission...or anyone who believes that God is supreme over government, and wants to not serve or hire people who act in ways abhorrent to his religion..or anyone who believes in freedom, when you get right down to it.

The future is here

Guaranteed to give Hairy Reid, Nancy Pee-Lousy, Babs Boxer, Diane Feinswine, and all other PSH/hoplophobes the running shits:

Story and photos here.

It appears that perhaps some polishing and stamping of lettering was done after the printing - sintered parts are "grainy" looking right out of the printer, and there will be some roughness due to the finite thickness of the many layers of metal making up the parts.

The barrel is the last sticking point for 3-D printed weapons. Plastic versions only last a few rounds at the most, as plastic tends to melt or char under the heat of a round firing. let alone the friction of the bullet in the bore.

Laser sintering 3-D printing machines aren't cheap - but they also aren't federally regulated - yet.

I wonder if an enterprising entrepreneur could buy one of these and offer time on the machine to citizens who want their very own one-off printed handgun?

And now, some other news

Recently, I put flashing in place around the outside cellar door. No more basement flooding from water leaking past the edges of the door.

Also rebuilt the small storage shed - it's going to be the winter chicken coop. The original back by the shooting range will be too far away to manage once we get a foot of snow on the ground, let alone be possible to have electricity run out to it to keep the birds and their water from freezing.

The '63 Bug is poised to get new door seals and trim - and a replacement windshield (again, the first new one developed a crack at eye level on the driver's side) for reasonable prices, even with shipping. Might be able to have the car sealed up before the worst of the weather hits us.

The new job is going good.

#1 daughter is mostly moved in to her new house.

Everyone is healthy, despite the best efforts of our government.

Moved my orange workshop hypercat Leo II into the house - Lucky and Hal are still hiding, but the signs are that they will learn to co-exist peacefully. Now, I can work without an orange streak flashing across my keyboard periodically.

Oh, yeah - found the nagging problem with the prototype I've been working on for my last customer - a bad solder joint on a filter capacitor. All the weirdness in the unit is gone now - and my desire to work on that project is back.

Going to go out later today to finish clearing the swale I want to bridge out back of fallen trees. Might actually finish that job before winter.

Off to work!

Rant

OK.Time to vent.

JugearsCare is imploding. The major networks are reporting the fact that Jugears Osama LIES bald-faced whenever he tells us "facts" about this abomination, and knew long before the thing was passed that no one would be able to "keep their present plan".

The Demonrat leadership is starting to fracture. True believers like Nancy Pee-Lousy and Hairy Reid are still hanging on, but many others are fleeing the sinking ship of state.

Even some of the RINOs in CONgress are starting to figure out that their support of this creature from Hell might hurt their re-election chances.

The EPA is poised to finish Jugears' plan for destroying the American economy. Bush-era environmental rules just closed the last virgin lead smelter in the USA - now, all our heavy metal needs will come from China, where there is no effective "EPA".

The FDA just approved China as a processor for our chicken - so we are now going to be shipping American-raised birds by ship to China for "processing" in plants unregulated by those same bureaucrats who can't stop salmonella outbreaks here. When will the first lawsuit against KFC or McDonald's for melamine-infused chicken parts be filed?

Dianne Feinswine and Babs Boxer and their ilk are still trying to get more illegal gun control laws enacted.

The Federal Reserve has told us they intend to keep on printing funny money by the billions per month. Inflation is good, right?

When will the outcry for mass impeachments start?

More importantly, WHO will prosecute those impeachments when those needing to be impeached make up a majority of CONgress?

Locally, the infestation of roundabouts or "traffic circles" continues to spread. I found a new route to work around the west side of Rockford that unfortunately has one of these idiocies in the middle of a major 55 MPH highway - with a 15 MPH speed limit - and they mean it. 15 MPH is the upper limit for safely going around those curves.

Common Core continues to encroach on our schools, and the Demonrats in Wisconsin led by fleebagger and lame duck Tim Cullen can't stop squawking for more money for "public" schools, to be spent on things like seat belts in school buses. Evidently, bus accidents are not sufficiently bad now - they want to ensure that the kids have even less chance of getting out of a sinking, rolled or burning wreck than they do now - at a cost of only about $15,000.00 per bus.

The Town of Beloit is considering incorporating part of the area, and cutting us in the rural area loose. At least here the leaders are going to listen to the voice of the people. That might not make much difference, since in a "democracy" the 51% get to dictate to the 49% - and the majority of Town of Beloit residents live in the area being considered for incorporation - and would benefit from it.

Enough. I'm sick of ranting. When the rain clears, I'm going out back and doing some target practice.
