Mr. Johnson is on our side - but not so sure about Kohl - so sent him this email to make sure he gets the point:
Vote NO on any attempt to change the rules for filibusters in the Senate.
Mr. Reid lost. His attempt to silence the American people by making a filibuster harder is just sour grapes.

A cat has been summoned to do jury service, even after his owners told the court he was "unable to speak and understand English".

Tabby Sal has been summoned to do jury service
Anna Esposito, wrote to Suffolk Superior Crown Court in Boston, US, to explain that a mistake had been made, but a jury commissioner replied saying the cat, named Tabby Sal, "must attend" on March 23.
Mrs Esposito had included a letter from her vet confirming that the cat was "a domestic short-haired neutered feline".
Tabby Sal had been entered by Mrs Esposito under the 'pets' section of the last census. "When they ask him guilty or not guilty? What's he supposed to say - miaow?" She said.
"Sal is a member of the family so I listed him on the last Census form under pets but there has clearly been a mix-up."
A website for the US judicial system states that jurors are "not expected to speak perfect English".

Mr. Osama lays some Astroturf

Barack Obama recently held a “Memorial Rally” after the mass-shooting in Tucson Arizona. Per the usual Obama theatrics, the rally looked and felt more like an Obama campaign stop. Michelle Malkin links to evidence of branded t-shirts and other goodies being handed out to attendees.
As Gateway Pundit points out, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs took the drivers seat in this week’s episode of Obama’s Astroturf machine.
When asked about the rally atmosphere, Gibbs had this to say.
I will say that I read the speech several times and thought that there wouldn’t be a lot of applause if any. I think many of us thought that. But I think there was a celebration, again, of the lives of those who had been impacted. Not just at that grocery store but throughout the country. And I think that, if that is part of the healing process, then that’s a good thing.
The problem with this statement is that it appears to be a complete front for what looked like a full scale astroturf campaign.
As you can see in the picture below, the Obama team actually put “applause” prompts on the Jumbotron during the rally.
Isn’t it amazing that the same political crew who accused the organic grassroots tea party movement of being astroturf happens to be the most astroturf political crew in American History?

Typical Lefty manipulation. The crowd is there to do as instructed, not because they are supportive of the cause or message, necessarily.
Reminds me of the anti-gun rally I attended years back in Daley Center when I was active with Concealed Carry, Inc. There were a couple thousand people there for the very professional rally - huge stage with big speakers, professional sound boards, and a cattle fence set up far to the rear of the stage for us "undesirables", so the media wouldn't get our crowd in their shots, or have to try and filter out our shouts.
There were a few hundred Chicago Public School students there - taken from their classes during a school day - there to pad out the crowd. I went into the crowd and asked a couple of the kids why they were there. "We were told we had to come" was one answer. Another kid didn't know what the rally was about.
Some of us tried to hand out copies of the Constitution to youngsters. When one of the adults - a man with a religious collar - noticed, he went to the kids who had copies and confiscated them.
To their credit, some kids refused to surrender their copies.

Eric Fuller, a survivor of last weekend’s shooting massacre in Tucson, gained national notoriety this week after claiming shooter Jared Lee Loughner got conservatives Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin their “first target.” The Blaze also brought you the story of Trent Humphries, a Tucson-area tea party leader who was warned by police to “stay away from public places” as his organization was being targeted with threats following the shooting.
On Saturday morning, Fuller and Humphries met during a town hall-style event hosted by ABC’s Christianne Amanpour that featured family members of victims, Tucson citizens and community leaders. Every newspaper in America, if not the world, gave the shooting of U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and the murder of half a dozen other people by a creep named Jared Loughner page 1 coverage. However. the specific tool that Loughner used for his work of killing. was less widely reported.
He got them all — and wounded a dozen more — with his 9-millimeter Glock.
What is a Glock, and what is it designed to be used for? It’s a rapid-fire weapon that can accommodate a 30-bullet clip, and it has only one real use. It’s of very little value for hunting or for Grandma to keep under her pillow to repel burglars. What it is good for is the killing of groups of human beings by a single shooter, and for nothing else.
For that reason, it was outlawed by federal statute until 2004, when that law expired and our Congress, cowardly as it always is when it comes to offending the National Rifle Association, failed to renew it.
Since no conventional rifle or pistol could have murdered so many so fast, it is entirely due to the work of the National Rifle Association that most of this current crop of victims are dead.
I think it is self-evident that Jared Loughner did not particularly wish to kill, for example, Christina Taylor Green. After all, she was only nine years old and could have done little to offend him. The only reason she was in the group that Loughner fired into was that she had just been elected to her third-grade student council. She wanted to see how politicians operated.
I don’t know how many readers of this blog belong to the NRA, but if any are present now I’d like to ask a question:

I am an NRA Life Member and a gun dealer. I sell tools like this
to people who pass the federal and state background checks. In Wisconsin, I also have to pay the state $13 to call into their "Handgun Hotline" that duplicates the FBI's E-Check system, and make my customer wait 48 hours before picking up his tool of freedom.
In your first paragraph, you make the mistake of blaming an inanimate object for the actions of a madman.
A gun is a tool. If this creep, who has been named quite too often, used a ball-peen hammer for his massacre, would you be calling for "hammer control". Of course not.
The Glock is a dependable tool for self-defense. The Second Amendment is not about hunting - someone as intelligent as you are ought to be able to figure that out.
I own two Glocks, a 10mm Model 20 and a 9mm Model 19. When Wisconsin joins the other states that do not illegally prohibit their citizens from carrying concealed, the 9mm will be my gun of choice. The 10mm sits next to my pillow, ready for the unlikely event that my home is invaded.
Neither gun has ever invited me to go on a killing spree.
Do you really want to live in a world where you need to prove your sanity in order to protect yourself?
You really ought to check your facts before making statements like these about a subject you obviously have not researched.
Any good hunting rifle could have murdered people as quickly and as finally, as could any magazine-fed handgun ever produced. Glock is a bogeyman because some ill-informed Congressperson back in the 1980's decided it was a "plastic gun" that "could not be found by metal detectors" - both wrong statements that got snatched by the liberal media as sound bites to be repeated ad-infinitum. This size of pistol was designed to enable people to conform to the new concealed carry laws then being enacted across the sane part of America.
Freedom has a price - part of that price is to accept that the world has evil people in it that can never be protected against without destroying that freedom. If you want to live in a state that prohibits all danger, I recommend that you try Great Britain - they've gone as far as to prohibit self defense, lest the criminal gets hurt.

Osama is learning?
I studiously avoided watching the Arizona shooting memorial, because I could not abide hearing his voice, and I made the assumption that he would be spouting the usual liberal line.
Perhaps I was wrong. From everything I have read, he actually acted Presidential.
It's about time. Now, we have to hope for a change that is permanent, and that he actually is going to try and lead the country to a better future, rather than over the highest cliff he can find.

Letter to the editor
Spur of the moment, sent to the Beloit Daily News:
Recently, I read that our new Governor Walker was going to advocate cutting Wisconsin taxes in an effort to lure more businesses to our state, and help create jobs in this depression we are in.
I see complaining about how much these tax cuts are going to "cost" the state.
Let's get one thing really clear. Taxes are costs for businesses and private citizens, who end up paying them, since the businesses always pass on this cost of doing business. They are income to the state.
A cost is what you pay out to cover an expense. Lower income cannot be a cost - it might be a loss, but it can never be a cost.
If the state is bringing in less income for any reason - businesses leaving the state because of unreasonable regulation and high taxes, or less spending by the people who have lost their jobs, then the state must do what those businesses and citizens do when faced with lower income - STOP SPENDING SO MUCH.
It's really simple. Cut spending. Lower taxes will attract business. Consumer and business spending will rise. Government will take in more from sales taxes. Now, keep government from raising spending again because of the higher income, so we don't get back into this mess again.

Another infringement coming?
So, Rep. Robert Brady of PA wants to ban us "threatening" our hired help.
My message to Tammy Gay:
I understand that Robert Brady from Pennsylvania is going to introduce a bill banning "threats" to lawmakers.
I know it's an alien concept to some Representatives and Senators, but we have this thing called the Constitution that absolutely prohibits Congress from passing any law limiting freedom of speech. Perhaps you could remind Rep. Brady of this document, and recommend he read and understand it before offering any more legislation to the House.
If this becomes a bill, I certainly hope you will not support it in any way.

Rep. Robert Brady (D-Pa.) reportedly plans to introduce legislation that would make it a federal crime to use language or symbols that could be perceived as threatening or inciting violence against a federal official or member of Congress.
Brady told CNN that he wants federal lawmakers and officials to have the same protections against threat currently provided to the president. His call comes one day after Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.) was shot, along with 19 other people, at a public event in Tucson. A suspect is currently in custody.

Email to our new governor
Hello, and congratulations on our victory!
You are a shining light in the darkness of socialist thought that has attempted to ruin our state for many years. Perhaps now we can shed some of the really stupid and oppressive laws passed by your predecessor and his cronies.
High on this list ought to be an act repealing the current concealed carry prohibition, and all prohibitions on weapons carried by law-abiding folks. People who use weapons in crimes can be prosecuted for their crimes, not for having the weapon. These laws have been there for centuries - we should enforce them.
Along with the repeal of these un-Constitutional laws against self-defense, you should look into abolishing the 'Handgun Hotline", another un-Constitutional infringement on our Second Amendment rights, not to mention an expensive duplication of the FBI's E Check program. One easy way to cut the cost of Wisconsin government is to eliminate duplication.
Please enforce the state ban on local gun control laws. the City of Beloit wants me to sign a register if I buy pistol ammunition. I am sure criminals don't bother, or get someone without a criminal record to make the purchase. Who should ever be required to "sign in" to exercise an unalienable right?
Thank you very much for giving Mr. Van Hollen the go-ahead to sue the feds over ObamaCare. An extremely good first step towards fiscal responsibility there!

You are a shining light in the darkness of socialist thought that has attempted to ruin our state for many years. Perhaps now we can shed some of the really stupid and oppressive laws passed by your predecessor and his cronies.
High on this list ought to be an act repealing the current concealed carry prohibition, and all prohibitions on weapons carried by law-abiding folks. People who use weapons in crimes can be prosecuted for their crimes, not for having the weapon. These laws have been there for centuries - we should enforce them.
Along with the repeal of these un-Constitutional laws against self-defense, you should look into abolishing the 'Handgun Hotline", another un-Constitutional infringement on our Second Amendment rights, not to mention an expensive duplication of the FBI's E Check program. One easy way to cut the cost of Wisconsin government is to eliminate duplication.
Please enforce the state ban on local gun control laws. the City of Beloit wants me to sign a register if I buy pistol ammunition. I am sure criminals don't bother, or get someone without a criminal record to make the purchase. Who should ever be required to "sign in" to exercise an unalienable right?
Thank you very much for giving Mr. Van Hollen the go-ahead to sue the feds over ObamaCare. An extremely good first step towards fiscal responsibility there!

It's the LAW!
Effective next month, every private home in Wisconsin MUST have multiple CO detectors in place, or ELSE - nothing. The law has no teeth.
Yet.
Once a law is on the books, it's trivial for our "public servants" to pass a modifier, quietly, that makes it a felony to not comply, or provide for a huge fine and unannounced "inspections" to assure compliance. Case in point, Illinois' seat belt laws - once only enforced after a legitimate traffic stop, now a primary reason TO stop you - and a nice income source for the Demonrats who run the asylum down there.
I hate the phrase "there oughtta be a law!", but perhaps we ought to encourage a few amendments to the Wisconsin Constitution - one could be "no law that proposes to force people to act safely in their private lives shall be proposed, and any existing law that forces people to act safely or purchase anything to promote personal safety shall be null and void at the date of adoption of this amendment"...
It could be called "The Darwin Amendment". One very bad thing governments have done for the human race is to prevent Darwin's theories from being proven more widely by "nanny state" laws.
If the gov't wants to encourage safety, perhaps they could steal less from us as "taxes", and perhaps insurance companies could offer lower rates to people who show they have incorporated these safety devices on their own. I in no way am proposing the gov't to legislate insurance discounts or anything else - they ought to keep their noses out of private lives. The only public safety issues they legitimately have are things like maintaining public roads and such so as to minimize dangers to the public. They sure dropped the ball on traffic roundabouts...

Tried to apply for unemployment. The office opens at 7:45 AM. Called at 8.
After sitting through the obligatory "press 1 for English" and "press 1 to file a claim" messages, I got a two minute message telling me why I have to give my SSN. Then, and only then, I was allowed to type in the SSN, and verify they got it right.
Another message, telling me there's a large volume of calls today, and they would try to transfer the call. Transfer noises.
Then "There are no agents available. Call back later". Total time tying up one of their incoming lines was about six minutes.
I called back a few minutes later - after re-entering all that data, got into the wait queue. After a couple minutes, the hold blurb about how you can do all this stuff - except the reason I was calling (because they told me I had to speak to someone live!) on the Internet - was interrupted by a male voice advising me of a 22-minute minimum wait for a live agent.
I hung up and drove out to Juda to apply for a real job.

Fired again...
The new job is history. I was not fast enough to absorb eight year's worth of six different engineer's design, I guess.
I'm going to look for a job as a plant maintenance man or mechanic - that's the job I like best, and damn the salary. Money is not worth killing oneself. I'll also keep running my little consulting / jack-of-all-trades business.
I sure won't miss the daily 150-mile commute into the belly of the beast - suburban Chicago...

I understand that your corporate office has decided to make Wisconsin Farm & Fleet stores "gun free zones" by posting signs advising that legally carrying a defensive firearm is prohibited in these stores.
As a private business, Farm & Fleet has every right to make such a decision - but is it the correct one for today's world?
The only persons who will be affected by this rule are the law-abiding customers who would never cause a problem. Criminals are likely to see these signs as an invitation to commit an armed robbery, knowing that there could be no defensive response by the customers or employees.
Wisconsin may soon join the other 48 states that do not prohibit their citizens from carrying a concealed weapon for defense. Open carry is already legal in Wisconsin, and many of the restrictive laws now on our books may be repealed by our new legislators. Will you still prohibit law-abiding folks from being able to protect themselves in your parking lots if these laws change?
I understand one of your customers was attacked in the parking lot of a store near Madison. If you prohibit your customers from having the means to defend themselves, you may find your stores losing business to other companies without this kind of restriction.
Please rethink your decision. If one of your customers is injured or killed because he or she could not defend themselves on account of leaving their gun home so they could shop, you would bear some of the responsibility for the crime, as an enabler of the criminal.

Early Wednesday morning, a computer glitch shut down a security checkpoint for a couple of hours at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. The line snaked out the door as many travelers waited for more than an hour and some missed their flights. One of the first people in line after that shutdown never made it through. She was arrested and banned from the airport.
Claire Hirschkind, 56, who says she is a rape victim and who has a pacemaker-type device implanted in her chest, says her constitutional rights were violated. She says she never broke any laws. But the Transportation Security Administration disagrees.
Hirschkind was hoping to spend Christmas with friends in California, but she never made it past the security checkpoint.
"I can't go through because I have the equivalent of a pacemaker in me," she said.
Hirschkind said because of the device in her body, she was led to a female TSA employee and three Austin police officers. She says she was told she was going to be patted down.
"I turned to the police officer and said, 'I have given no due cause to give up my constitutional rights. You can wand me,'" and they said, 'No, you have to do this,'" she said.
Hirschkind agreed to the pat down, but on one condition.
"I told them, 'No, I'm not going to have my breasts felt,' and she said, 'Yes, you are,'" said Hirschkind.
When Hirschkind refused, she says that "the police actually pushed me to the floor, (and) handcuffed me. I was crying by then. They drug me 25 yards across the floor in front of the whole security."

The War On (some) Drugs - Logic need not apply

There’s much more in the memo which, if followed, would open the door to a realistic and open national conversation about drug policy.
But there’s one catch.
At the end of the memo…
Nothing in this memorandum shall be construed to impair or otherwise affect:
(i) authority granted by law to an executive department, agency, or the head thereof…
And, of course, the current law authorizing the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy specifically states:
Responsibilities. –The Director– [...]
(12) shall ensure that no Federal funds appropriated to the Office of National Drug Control Policy shall be expended for any study or contract relating to the legalization (for a medical use or any other use) of a substance listed in schedule I of section 202 of the Controlled Substances Act (21 U.S.C. 812) and take such actions as necessary to oppose any attempt to legalize the use of a substance (in any form) that–
- is listed in schedule I of section 202 of the Controlled Substances Act (21 U.S.C. 812); and
- has not been approved for use for medical purposes by the Food and Drug Administration;
If the science says that legalization is even a viable option, the Drug Czar is required by law to ignore, obfuscate, lie, or whatever else is necessary to oppose any attempts to legalize.
By definition in the memo, scientific integrity requires an open analysis of the issue, including looking at best and worst-case scenarios. Yet the law specifically prohibits that kind of openness.
The law trumps the memo’s guidelines, leaving the Drug Czar and the ONDCP specifically exempt from the government’s Scientific Integrity policy.

On March 9, 2009, President Obama issued a Presidential Memorandum on Scientific Integrity emphasizing the importance of science in guiding Administration decisions and the importance of ensuring that the public trusts the science behind those decisions. In it he highlighted six principles of scientific integrity that would be at the core of this Administration’s approach to policy making. And he asked me, in collaboration with other Federal officials, to craft recommendations for ensuring scientific integrity throughout the executive branch.
Today, in response to the President’s request, I am issuing a Memorandum to the Heads of Departments and Agencies that provides further guidance to Executive Branch leaders as they implement Administration policies on scientific integrity. The new memorandum describes the minimum standards expected as departments and agencies craft scientific integrity rules appropriate for their particular missions and cultures, including a clear prohibition on political interference in scientific processes and expanded assurances of transparency. It requires that department and agency heads report to me on their progress toward completing those rules within 120 days.

WASHINGTON (AP) — About 13.4 million taxpayers may be getting unexpected tax bills because they were awarded too much money under President Barack Obama's Making Work Pay tax credit, a government audit said Thursday.
The tax credit, which expires Jan. 1, was designed to increase take-home pay by about $8 a week through new tax withholding tables. The credit was capped at $400 for individuals and $800 for married couples filing jointly.
However, the credit put millions of taxpayers at risk for not having enough taxes withheld from their paychecks, resulting in a tax bill when they file their returns, said the audit by J. Russell George, the Treasury inspector general for tax administration.
Those at risk included people with multiple jobs, married couples who both work, Social Security recipients who also work, and young workers who are also claimed as dependents on their parents' tax returns.

I guess we know how much respect all those lame-duck senators and assemblypersons have for their constituents - they are insisting on jamming expensive union contracts down our throats, knowing full well this is their last chance to pay off their political debts to the unions.
I hope Governor Walker makes good on his promise to outlaw public unions in Wisconsin, As far as I am concerned, anyone who wants to work for a governmental agency should accept whatever pay the people, through their elected representatives. judge is proper for their job, and not complain. They are free to seek real, productive jobs in the private sector, where they are free to join a union if they want to.
If you work for the people, you should not be threatening the people, like Mr. Marty Beil, executive director of the Wisconsin State Employees Union, does in his statement. I believe what he is quoted as saying could be construed as a threat of violence.

Homegrown terrorism is the new buzz being cultivated by DHS and various other government agencies. In publications like MIAC report, authorities identify patriots as dangers and label them probable terrorists.
Even Geraldo Rivera has begun to see through the thin veil of false flag terrorism, identifying patsies planted by the very agencies meant to protect us.
We have lost control of our government and soon we will lose control over our own health. Constitutional rights are continually under attack and we are losing the war. With PR spins like Intel's it is becoming increasingly difficult to keep things in perspective.

If you enter their "control number" on their web site, you get a message asking you to enter a number. Stripping all the non-numeric stuff results in it being accepted, but nothing happens.
Sort of like the TSA's record on finding real terrorists. I saw somewhere that they miss something like 65% of the "fake bombs" sent through to test security.
So, if Osama - the one over in Ashcanistan - wants to blow up a plane here, he only needs to send 40 bombs through, and he's almost certain one will end up on a plane. Of course, his bombmakers have shown great ineptitude lately, for which we should all give thanks.

As part of its airport security procedures, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) requires airlines to verify the identity of all passengers to ensure that persons on Federal watch lists who are known to pose, or are suspected of posing, a threat to civil aviation or national security receive secondary screening or are denied boarding on commercial aircraft. The Federal watch lists are maintained by the U.S. Terrorist Screening Center in a consolidated Terrorist Screening Database, and are compiled from information provided by Federal intelligence and law enforcement agencies. The Federal watch lists include a No-Fly List and a Selectee List. Individuals on the No-Fly List are prohibited from traveling on commercial aircraft. Individuals on the Selectee List are permitted to fly but receive secondary screening at airport security checkpoints.

To help alleviate delays, DHS has developed the Traveler Redress Inquiry Program (TRIP) to assist individuals who believe they have been incorrectly delayed, denied boarding, identified for additional screening, or have experienced difficulties when seeking entry into the United States.
Travelers may outline their concerns in a single request to DHS TRIP via the Internet. The information received will be shared with applicable DHS component agencies, such as the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and U.S. Customs and Border Protection, as well as with the U.S. Department of State and, when appropriate, with airport and airline operators. Random thoughts on the law
If someone is enough of a danger to the community to need to be "registered" as a sex offender, WHY the hell is this person still loose in the community?
Registration of any kind has never prevented a single crime - it just makes for employment for more bureaucrats to maintain the records.

What's with sentences for crimes? HUGE fines and long jail terms for copying a copyrighted video - but much less for aggravated rape or even murder. Is the government telling us that CDs and DVDs are worth more than human lives? Guess so.

I commute to Elgin, IL for work, and on the backroads I drive, I've been seeing new sign at every small bridge over a wet spot: "NO LOITERING OR JUMPING OFF BRIDGE".
Who is the brainiac that mandated these? Most of the streams are less than a foot deep during the spring thaw, and who exactly has been loitering? The trolls from the Illinois Trollway System?

What's with the people who mount those solar powered warning lights along highways in Illinois? They mount many of them with the solar panels facing NORTH. This kind of stupidity has got to be taught - no natural idiot is that dumb!

I just got a bill from the Wisconsin Department of Justice for three "transactions" for the "Handgun Hotline" - Wisconsin's totally redundant Brady check just for handgun transfers. $13 for each "subject" to check if they are naughty enough to be denied a transfer. This used to be much less - our Demonrats in Madison figured gun buyers are an easy mark for fleecing.
We pay taxes to the feds - and part of that money is used to run the FBI E-Check system, that does the same thing, unless the individual state has it's own system - like Ill-Annoys has its' FOID system run by the Illinois State Police.
The "Handgun Hotline" inquiry requires a phone call to the Department of Justice Crime Information Bureau, where a nice (really!) person takes your customer's information, and gives an answer within a day or so via phone call. Once approved, the transfer can happen after a 48-hour delay, to give the customer a chance to cool down - since we all know gun transfers are always in the heat of the moment. It's nice to know the State assumes we all are criminals until proven otherwise, isn't it?
Wisconsin is in serious financial trouble. An easy thing to do to both help the debt and more closely follow the Constitution would be to eliminate this bureau and the insane wait, and let the already-paid-for E-Check do the job. The E-Check is all computerized, and gives results in a couple minutes in most cases.
Once we've shed ourselves of the "Handgun Hotline", then we need to repeal the Brady Act to get the feds out of the business of infringing on the Second Amendment by requiring we ask Big Brother "pretty please may I" before buying a freedom tool.

Simple enough. I'm sure even a career politician like yourself can understand that your continuing obedience to the wishes of your masters is the only way you can continue to serve us in the Senate.

Jews, being, at the very most, three percent of the population, have a vested interest in America remaining a Christian nation. Jews have survived and thrived here because America was a Christian nation. Christian America has given Jews opportunities, liberties and security they would have never had in other countries.
This nation was inarguably founded upon Christian and Old Testament (Torah) Jewish values. It was not founded by moral relativists, Marxists, secular humanists, atheists, Hindus, Buddhists, or Muslims.
JPFO’s interpretation of a Christian nation is the following:
- A Constitutional Republic rather than a theocratic form of government like Islam.
- The institutional separation of church and state versus today’s legalistic secularization of our entire society.
- Protection of the individual’s right to religious belief and the exercise of personal conscience.
- A distinction between theology and time tested and successful guidelines of behavior like the Ten Commandments and the Golden Rule.
- Freedom of choice in the religious “market place”, thus ensuring personal spiritual liberty.
Clear thinking Jewish commentators and religious leaders have long realized the reality of America being a Christian nation…and the absolute imperative that it remain so.
