Charles Woods, the father Tyrone Woods, who was killed in the 9/11 terrorist attack at the American consulate in Benghazi, Libya, reveals details of meeting Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton at the publically broadcast memorial service for the slain Americans at Andrews Air Force Base only days after the attack. And, in a recent radio appearance, Woods publicly questions who made the call not to send in back-up forces to possibly save his son’s life, as well as the three other Americans killed in Benghazi (which includes the American ambassador to Libya).

When [Obama] came over to our little area” at Andrew Air Force Base, says Woods, “he kind of just mumbled, you know, ‘I’m sorry.’ His face was looking at me, but his eyes were looking over my shoulder like he could not look me in the eye. President Barack Obama could lose his home state of Illinois in November, a new poll shows.

A poll conducted by Illinois-based pollster and political strategist Michael McKeon found Obama leading Republican Mitt Romney by 49 percent to 37 percent in Cook County, the home of Chicago. That puts him ahead by a far thinner margin than expected in a county he should be winning handsomely.

Atlas Shrugged Part 2

My son and I went up to Janesville and saw the second installment of "Atlas Shrugged" last night. Including the couple who were there at the ending credits, a total of eight people saw the movie that we know of.

It's too bad more people are not getting exposed to this story. The delay between Part 1 and now must be a big part of the reason for the low turnout, as may be the fact that the cast changed completely between episodes.

The movie itself is much better in terms of Hollywood movie-making than Part 1. Much more use of CGI and it looked a whole lot more professional. The actors did a good job.

If you get a chance to see this, do so. I hope the remainder of the story does not drag out too long in production - if indeed there IS more coming.

"On 9-14-2012, Dearborn Fordson High School principal called the police on me for driving with 2 Israeli flags on my truck.

When the students began their assault he rolled down his window asking them to stop. After they pulled him over the police used the rolled down window as a pretext to accuse him of instigating the altercation.  While being questioned by the police in front of the high school the reader received death threats. The police denied hearing them though the individuals involved were only a few feet away.

"The Dearborn police were one car behind me when this student threw a bottle on my windshield. The police did not stop the student, but instead stopped me for 30 minutes asking me why I would display Israeli flags on my truck."

If voter fraud has criminal penalties, the only people "scared" by those billboards ought to be Demonrat professional voters.

If people can't get to the polls during normal voting hours, that's why absentee ballots were invented. Use them.

Students in dorm rooms are likely NOT Ohio citizens, and if they are in college, they damn well can learn how to follow instructions on a voter registration forms.

All it all up and possibly you get an honest election in Ohio.

As usual, they use footnotes referring back to themselves, and avoid any mention of Demonrat tactics involving graveyards, free wine and cigarettes to skid row derelicts, Black Panther "poll watchers", etc. etc. etc...

50th Anniversary of Vietnam American Legion Tribute

50 years ago, we were involved in another war.



I was lucky not to be called up in the last Vietnam draft. My birthday was drawn, but they reached their quota before they got to 'K'. I didn't have any exemptions - if I had to go, I was going to enlist in the Naval Reserve. I had made contacts with the recruiters at Glenview Naval Air Station north of Chicago. My Dad was in WWII in the Navy, so it would have been something of a tradition.

If I had been drafted into the Army, I would have lasted five minutes on the ground over there - I'm not that much of an athlete, couldn't run to save my life, and am blind as a bat without my glasses. I figured that life on a ship would be a safer arrangement for me as well as the others in my group.

Almost joined the Navy again in 1978 - went through all the tests, the next step was the physical - and found out that I was one year too old to try for nuclear power school. So, never served.

I have great respect for anyone who did serve. I never could understand how anyone could act the way too many so-called Americans did when our guys came home from 'Nam.

"Smart" car? Stupid driver!

This morning, on the way to the bank and hardware store, I happened to spy a Smart car coming out of Riverside Park. The driver made an un-signaled turn out of the park into traffic, then an un-signaled lane change in front of a much larger car, and finally yet another un-signaled lane change into the southbound left turn lane at the White St. light..

After attaining the left turn lane, the driver turned on a turn signal. A RIGHT turn signal.

There was a "Coexist" bumper sticker on the back. The driver turned out to be a short-haired female of perhaps 30 years. From the vehicle and the sticker, I can probably be safe in surmising the presence of a liberal, most likely a registered Demonrat Osama supporter.

How does one become an adult without knowing when and which way to flip the turn signal stalk in a car? For that matter, how does one survive to early middle age and still be stupid enough to purchase an overgrown roller skate to drive in traffic?

Finally slept in - woke at 8 AM. First time in YEARS I've slept in.

As I was getting out of bed, the phone rings. "Private caller". I pick up.

"Hello?"
"Hellloooo?"

*sounds of a computer dialer passing a live call to the boiler room*
*Thick accent, possibly (East) Indian* "Is *stumble* Charles *stumble* *badly mispronounced* there?"

Standard reply: "Who's calling?"

"This is John *mumble* from *mumble* Indian Nation."

Now I get into it. "You do realize this is a 'no call' number? That it's early on a Saturday? I don't know what you are selling or representing, but you've just lost me. Never call here again. Got it?"

I hung up.

I wonder if it did any good. Sure felt good.

WH Silent Over Demands to Denounce ‘Piss Christ’ Artwork

Religious groups are blasting President Obama for not condemning am anti-Christian art display set to appear in New York City and one Republican lawmaker said he is “fed up with the administration’s double standard and religious hypocrisy.

“Piss Christ,” once branded as a “deplorable, despicable display of vulgarity,” will be displayed at the Edward Tyler Nahem Gallery in Manhattan on Thursday. The artwork features a “photograph of the crucifix submerged in the artist’s urine.”

The artwork debuted in 1989 and was funded through prize money provided by the National Endowment for the Arts. The art gallery hosting the retrospective salute to Andres Serrano is privately owned.

Religious groups and some lawmakers have already started sounding off – and making comparisons to the controversy over a recent anti-Muslim film. The low budget movie “Innocence of Muslims” sparked violent and deadly clashes across the globe.

It also brought strong rebukes, condemnations and apologies from President Obama, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and a host of administration officials.

Insane, stupid, or some horrible ulterior motive?

I have had a full dozen computerized survey calls now from some outfit called "Independent Voter Research", at a "private" number. The computer asks for my sex, age, race, and political party - then asks if I am likely to vote or not, and if I would vote for Romney or Osama, and for Thompson or Tammy Gay Baldwin. Then they give their number as 866 540-3140 - which when called tells me they wanted to get my opinions, apologizes for missing me, and hangs up.

What earthly good is it for a survey to call the same phone number twelve times over three weeks, asking the exact same questions?

After the second call, I've been giving random answers. Or, you can keep the computer on the line possibly forever by repeatedly giving an invalid response.

A little Google research turns up this, amongst other hits. There are claims the Romney campaign is responsible for this, but WHY would they? It's certainly not going to convince anyone to change their vote, and I bet lots of people getting these calls are screwing with them like I am.

The admission prompted Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y., to call for the resignation of U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice for pushing the narrative that the attacks were part of a spontaneous uprising.

The Muslim Brotherhood government in Egypt has vowed to destroy the Pyramids as "pagan" symbols. Muslims in Iran have already destroyed several Buddhist relics for the same reason - their Prophet is so insecure that he cannot abide any competition.

Muslims routinely strap on explosives and kill dozens and hundreds of people, innocent Muslims and "infidels" alike, again in accordance with their holy Koran, which preaches that a Muslim who dies in the fight against the "infidel" is assured of a place in Heaven with those 72 virgins we hear so much about.

Muslims routinely force their women into concealment at best, slavery at worst, including beatings and mutilation, again all in accordance with their holy Koran. If you do a search on "Islam women's rights", however, you find dozens of articles that show Islam to advocate equality of men and women in many areas, while still requiring Muslim women to obey restrictions on their freedom for religious reasons. If only reality matched these rosy visions!

Muslims advocate canings for women who are viewed as immoral, and stoning for those accused of adultery, despite this punishment not being prescribed in the Koran.

Muslims in Africa have an unbroken record of enslaving and trading in human beings that reaches back over 1000 years.

Islamic art is limited to narrow subjects. Depicting the Prophet is forbidden, as is any music that does not meet the requirements of the current crop of mullahs. This leads to some ironies, as when the religious leaders in Iran celebrated Freddie Mercury as an Iranian hero for his music with Queen. All other music - and TV shows - are forbidden.

Islam encourages pedophilia.

Islam requires unbelievers living in Muslim areas to pay ransom regularly to be allowed to live in comparative peace.

Islamic leaders have the power to declare "fatwa" on anyone who runs afoul of their personal idea of what is allowed and required by Sharia law. The death sentence on Salman Rushdie is still in effect over 20 years later.

Now, other major religions on our planet have in the past advocated and actively pursued similar atrocities against individuals and historical artifacts. The big difference is that Judaism and Christianity and most Eastern religions have grown out of the barbaric practices of the past, and leaders of most modern religions preach peace, love, and tolerance. Islam, at present,  has few leaders willing to publicly condemn the barbaric practices seen daily in our world - indeed, far too many Islamic leaders aid and abet these practices.

During the 19th century, many Islamic practices were made more in keeping with modern civilization, and Muslim people began to integrate into the modern world. In the last 50 years, however, "fundamentalists" have taken over leadership of the Islamic world.

Western civilization is at a crossroads. Either we resist Islamic barbarism and defeat those who would destroy us, or we either convert to Islam or accept the precarious status of "dhimmis" - and kiss freedom goodbye.

An Iranian cleric was beaten up by two teen girls in Shahmirzaad, Iran. According to the Imam he was walking to the mosque when he encountered the two young ladies dressed “inappropriately” (That’s Iranian speak for not wearing the required hijab). According to the Imam he politely (We all know how Muslim men treat women so politely) asked them to cover up.

According to the cleric, one of the girls told him off in no uncertain term. “She responded by telling me (the Imam) “to cover my eyes, which was very insulting to me”. He once again “politely” repeated his request. This time both girls attacked the mad Mullah.

“She pushed me and I fell to the ground on my back” (Pity, pity, pity) From that point on, I don’t know what happened. I was just feeling the kicks of the women who were beating me up and insulting me”

After this attack this girly man Imam had to be hospitalized for three days. (Is that the standard period of treatment for a severely wounded male ego to recover in Iran ?) He later called the attack “the worst day of my life.” I bet it was.

Name a single thing that has improved under his rule.

How can any cogent American citizen possibly even consider voting for Barack Obama now? That's what lots of conservatives and moderates are asking each other, again and again. It's completely baffling, to those who grew up with any sort of sense of what America means and what the American character traditionally has been, that anybody can look at the man's record and want more of the same.

Almost the entirety of the Muslim world is now rioting against an American president who promised that his olive branches to Muslims would secure peace. Like Jimmy Carter, Obama has only shown a weakness that has emboldened the Islamist haters. Meanwhile, our closest ally in the region, Israel, a stable representative democracy led by an American-educated, America-loving prime minister, has repeatedly been insulted, abandoned, and undermined. In short, the United States is in worse position with all sides in the Middle East/northern Africa. We are embarrassed, feckless, wounded... and in four tragic cases, dead.

Hey Muslims - if the shoe fits...

If you are offended by being called savages, perhaps you could stop acting like savages. Other religions have managed to shed their savagery and cruelty over the centuries - what's wrong with Islam?

So - Islam is now a "race"? Perhaps "savage" is a race now, distinct from "human". If so, I'm all for helping that race to extinction.

I am sending the attached short speech from Winston Churchill, delivered by him in 1899 when he was a young soldier and journalist. It probably sets out the current views of many, but expressed in the wonderful Churchillian turn of phrase and use of the English language, of which he was a past master. Sir Winston Churchill was, without doubt, one of the greatest men of the late 19th and 20th centuries.

He was a brave young soldier, a brilliant journalist, an extraordinary politician and statesman, a great warleader and Prime Minister, to whom the Western world must be forever in his debt. He was a prophet in his own time. He died on 24 January 1965, at the grand old age of 90 and, after a lifetime of service to his country, and was accorded a State funeral.

HERE IS THE SPEECH:

"How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement, the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property, either as a child, a wife, or a concubine, must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men.

Individual Muslims may show splendid qualities, but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it.

No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step, and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science, the science against which it had vainly struggled, the civilization of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilization of ancient Rome."
