Just felt like it:

I just wanted to let you know that I, and a large majority of your constituents, want you to vote NO on any new gun control laws that may be introduced. Under no circumstances are you to introduce or sponsor any such infringements on our Constitutional rights.

You may have "dodged the bullet" in the last election, but be assured, we in Rock County are making sure of our "target" the next time you come up for election. If you wish to continue as our employee and representative, you will start voting against the following:

Tax increases

New bureaucracies

Expansion of power of existing bureaucracies

"Feel good" laws of any sort

Laws intended to "make us (feel) safe"

Any law not firmly based on existing Constitutional powers of the federal government

Any law based on the flawed interpretation of the Commerce Clause

Do this, and I might vote for you next time. Otherwise, remember - we are watching you, and we have long memories.

By the way - I put "quotation marks" around the "inflammatory" phrases above, in case someone attempts to do the TJIC thing to me. Why don't you look into why the State of Massachusetts broke the First Amendment with this person?

Website: http://tjic.com/ - shut down by the MA police, evidently, for saying something they didn't like.

Email to Ron Johnson

I've seen many references lately to BATFE possibly prohibiting import of shotguns "not suited for sporting purposes", such as certain Saiga models. So:

++++++++++++++++++++++

Hello,

I would like to ask you to take a look at the BATFE's rules considering whether or not a particular firearm is suitable for import because of its' possible "sporting" uses.

I hear the BATFE is considering ruling that certain shotguns, such as some models made by Saiga, are not "sporting" guns because they hold too many rounds, and others, in particular, reproductions of WWI "trench broom" 12ga guns, because of their evil bayonet lugs or metal hand guards.

First off, as you should know, the Second Amendment says nothing about hunting or target shooting. It is there to provide the American people with an assurance that the government will have nothing at all to do with regulating or denying access to arms by the American public.

I see this as immediately invalidating any law that calls for a gun to show a "sporting purpose" before we are allowed to possess it. The 1968 Gun Control Act, modeled on pre-WWII German law, is a blatant example of an infringement in this vein.

I believe the Constitution reserves lawmaking power to Congress, not un-elected bureaucrats, and that is is long past time for Congress to rein in these bureaus that seem to think they can mandate to the American people.

Baby steps - try and rein in the BATFE for a start - perhaps we can ward off the next Waco or Ruby Ridge incident. The CPSC, EPA, OSHA, FDA, DOE, HUD, HEW, etc, can be tackled as time permits. I'm not forgetting ObamaCare!

Think of all the money that could be saved by retiring these agencies, none of which has a sound basis in our Constitution for ever having been created.

Waivers for Favors: Big Labor’s Obamacare escape hatch

My syndicated column today takes another thwack at Obamacare waiver-mania, with more analysis of the 182 union beneficiaries who’ve obtained safe harbor from the costly mandate pushed by their Big Labor bosses.

President Obama’s story-tellers recently launched a White House blog series called “Voices of Health Reform,” where “readers can meet average Americans already benefiting from the health reform law.” I propose a new White House series: “Voices of Health Reform Waivers,” where taxpayers can meet all the politically-connected unions benefiting from exclusive get-out-of-Obamacare passes — after squandering millions of their workers’ dues to lobby for the
job-killing, private insurance-sabotaging law from which they are now exempt.

Supreme Court: Emanuel on Chicago mayor ballot

UPDATED at 7:15 p.m. by Liam Ford, Jeff Coen and David Heinzmann with more detail from Supreme Court opinion; election authority comment; ruling a topic in tonight's mayoral debate.

The Illinois Supreme Court ruled today that Rahm Emanuel can stay on the ballot for mayor of Chicago, saying in a unanimous decision that he meets the state's residency requirements despite spending most of the last year as White House chief of staff.

Boxer's at it again...

A Demonrat talking about "common sense". You know the subject is idiotic.

Boxer to Introduce Common-Sense Concealed Firearms Act of 2011

By: Sen. Barbara Boxer's office

Washington, D.C. January 22, 2011 – U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA) today announced that next week she will introduce the Common-Sense Concealed Firearms Act of 2011, which would require all states that allow residents to carry concealed weapons in public to have minimum standards for granting permits.

+++++++++++++++

I am sure that nutcases will go right out and apply for those concealed carry licenses, and there will never be another crime committed with a gun ever again. After all, look at how well the preceding 20,000-odd infringements on our rights have worked!

Someone might want to inform the Senator that you don't apply for a permit to exercise an inalienable right.

Sent this to Kohl:

Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA) today announced that next week she will introduce the Common-Sense Concealed Firearms Act of 2011

Please inform Ms. Boxer that one does not apply for governmental permission to exercise one's inalienable right to self-defense.

Also, please ask this dense woman why she thinks yet another law on top of the more than 20,000 illegal and un-Constitutional gun laws already in place is going to make one whit of difference to the nutcases among us.

Whatever you do, don't let us see your name as a co-sponsor of such a stupid bill. Remember - 2012 is coming, and we will not forget those who act against our best interests.

++++++++++++++++++

and this to Mr. Johnson:

I understand Barb Boxer is going to introduce yet another "feel good" gun control bill - the "Common-Sense Concealed Firearms Act of 2011", which, as is usual for someone of her mental acuity, neither "common sense" nor a good idea.

I've already requested that Mr. Kohl not sponsor such idiocy. I'm pretty sure I don't have to make the same request of you.

What I would ask is that you do all in your power to prevent such bills from ever seeing the Senate floor, and if the bill does make it there, please vote NO on it.

Thanks for supporting us in Wisconsin, even if mostly you just nullify Mr. Kohl's votes

Rahm it!

He's off the Chicago mayoral ballot - for now...

Update 1/26 - stayed by the Ill-Annoys Supreme Court. A stay is not a reversal, but his name might be on the ballot...

Probably not, but he sure is irritating...

More missives to Congresscritters

Phoned Kohl and Johnson to let them know I expect a NO vote on changing Senate rules to make filibusters more difficult, as sour-grapist Hairy Reid wants to do.

Mr. Johnson is on our side - but not so sure about Kohl - so sent him this email to make sure he gets the point:

Vote NO on any attempt to change the rules for filibusters in the Senate.

Mr. Reid lost. His attempt to silence the American people by making a filibuster harder is just sour grapes.

Vote NO. 2012 is coming, and we are watching.

The House votes to repeal OsamaCare!

Now, it's up to the Senate, and of course, getting enough votes to overturn Osama's expected veto.

Sent this to Kohl:

The people have spoken in the House.

Now, it's your turn. Vote to repeal this idiotic and un-Constitutional bill, and make your constituents happy.

Or, vote to keep this idiocy on the books, and ensure your place in the history of Wisconsin as just another political hack who ignored his bosses.

Your choice.

Cat ordered to do jury service

A cat has been summoned to do jury service, even after his owners told the court he was "unable to speak and understand English".

Tabby Sal

Tabby Sal has been summoned to do jury service

Anna Esposito, wrote to Suffolk Superior Crown Court in Boston, US, to explain that a mistake had been made, but a jury commissioner replied saying the cat, named Tabby Sal, "must attend" on March 23.

Mrs Esposito had included a letter from her vet confirming that the cat was "a domestic short-haired neutered feline".

Tabby Sal had been entered by Mrs Esposito under the 'pets' section of the last census. "When they ask him guilty or not guilty? What's he supposed to say - miaow?" She said.

"Sal is a member of the family so I listed him on the last Census form under pets but there has clearly been a mix-up."

A website for the US judicial system states that jurors are "not expected to speak perfect English".

Mr. Osama lays some Astroturf

At The Liberty Blog:

Barack Obama recently held a “Memorial Rally” after the mass-shooting in Tucson Arizona. Per the usual Obama theatrics, the rally looked and felt more like an Obama campaign stop. Michelle Malkin links to evidence of branded t-shirts and other goodies being handed out to attendees.

As Gateway Pundit points out, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs took the drivers seat in this week’s episode of Obama’s Astroturf machine.

When asked about the rally atmosphere, Gibbs had this to say.

I will say that I read the speech several times and thought that there wouldn’t be a lot of applause if any. I think many of us thought that. But I think there was a celebration, again, of the lives of those who had been impacted. Not just at that grocery store but throughout the country. And I think that, if that is part of the healing process, then that’s a good thing.

The problem with this statement is that it appears to be a complete front for what looked like a full scale astroturf campaign.

As you can see in the picture below, the Obama team actually put “applause” prompts on the Jumbotron during the rally.

ObamaTron

Isn’t it amazing that the same political crew who accused the organic grassroots tea party movement of being astroturf happens to be the most astroturf political crew in American History?

++++++++++++++++++++

Typical Lefty manipulation. The crowd is there to do as instructed, not because they are supportive of the cause or message, necessarily.

Reminds me of the anti-gun rally I attended years back in Daley Center when I was active with Concealed Carry, Inc. There were a couple thousand people there for the very professional rally - huge stage with big speakers, professional sound boards, and a cattle fence set up far to the rear of the stage for us "undesirables", so the media wouldn't get our crowd in their shots, or have to try and filter out our shouts.

There were a few hundred Chicago Public School students there - taken from their classes during a school day - there to pad out the crowd. I went into the crowd and asked a couple of the kids why they were there. "We were told we had to come" was one answer. Another kid didn't know what the rally was about.

Some of us tried to hand out copies of the Constitution to youngsters. When one of the adults - a man with a religious collar - noticed, he went to the kids who had copies and confiscated them.

To their credit, some kids refused to surrender their copies.
