The EPA invades Hollywood
and takes Dr. Seuss hostage:
++++++++++++++
Universal Studios is releasing “Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax” on March 2 to theaters throughout the U.S. Partnering with Universal is the EPA, which is using Lorax to teach children how to be green and to fight rampant industrialism (capitalism, the engine of progress).
The Lorax character is a creature who “speaks for the trees” and fights against the capitalist system. How cute.
Comcast Corp., which owns Universal is also planning “planet-saving” activities like planting trees and conserving energy.
The EPA will be using Lorax to promote low-power appliances that carry the Energy Star label; Hilton’s DoubleTree hotel is also sponsoring a trip for four for eco-tourism to Costa Rica.
IHOP has also joined the green propaganda band wagon by producing a Seussian breakfast of green-colored eggs and ham.
EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson is overjoyed by this propaganda blitz against our children. According to Jackson, “It’s important to connect these dots between energy savings and efficiency and a cleaner environment,” she said in a statement sent to The Associated Press. “Bringing together the Lorax and Energy Star is a great venue for doing that.” She’s clearly a very busy anti-capitalist woman. It takes a lot of work to take down industrialized civilization in only four years. Imagine what she can do with another four!
Be sure to keep your children from seeing this EPA-endorsed anti-capitalist movie.

Osama and the Demonrats create even more jobs!
Not really:

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (AP) — Caterpillar Inc. has ruled Illinois out of plans to relocate a factory and 1,400 jobs from Japan, citing both logistical problems with building the plant in its home state and ongoing concerns about the business climate.
Caterpillar laid out its decision Tuesday in an email to elected leaders in Peoria County, saying it considered factors such as access to ports and local labor markets, as well as proximity to Caterpillar's building and construction projects division headquarters in Cary, N.C.
But the email, signed only by the Peoria-based company's North American Facility Site Selection Team, says Caterpillar's longstanding complaints about Illinois' state budget deficit were a factor.
"Please understand that even if your community had the right logistics for this project, Caterpillar's previously documented concerns about the business climate and overall fiscal health of the state of Illinois still would have made it unpractical for us to select your community for this project," the email, a copy of which was obtained by The Associated Press, says.
++++++++++++
And why does Illinois have a budget deficit?
Could it be because the Demonrats in Chicago have tried their damnedest to make Illinois into a socialist paradise?

Bloomberg's Super Bowl ad
Found at a site I don't want to advertise:
They both support the Second Amendment, as long as they can control what you can keep and bear, how you can keep it, and where you can bear it.
600 mayors can't be wrong!
I hope the people of NYC and Boston are happy about this use of their tax money - or did Bloomie pay for it out of his own pocket?
The same site had links to two new law proposals. Veteran Demonrat lizard Charles Schumer says we neet to "crack down on illegal gun sales and corrupt dealers" and CONgress wants to "fix the loopholes" in the un-Constituitonal Brady check system.
There are no loopholes. The present system is illegal, and needs to be abolished.

Harbor Freight banning legal guns!
According to Wisconsin Gun Owners, Harbor Freight in Madison has posted "no weapons" signs at the store. I called and the lady there said it's a corporate policy.
Damn. Harbor Freight has some good deals from time to time, and now I can't patronise them.

Susan G. Komen vs the Demonrats
Got two emails from two of my favorite Demonrat females today.

Dear Chuck,
The strong public outcry in response to the Susan G. Komen Foundation's decision to defund Planned Parenthood last week – which they later reversed – shows how powerful we can be when we come together.
But this fight is far from over.
Our right-wing opponents continue to launch attack after attack against women's rights, women's health, and women's economic security – and we've got to fight back every single day.
The next battle over the Obama administration's decision to make contraception more affordable under the new health care law is already underway. It's hard to believe that in the 21st century we have to fight for access to birth control, but that is the fact – and there will be many more fights in the weeks ahead.
We need you, and hundreds of thousands more Americans like you, right now.

P.S. By joining One Million Strong for Women, you'll be signing up for a powerful grassroots team that will fight back against attacks on women's rights and help elect more leaders to Congress to keep up that fight. We hope you'll stand with us – and forward this email to everyone you know to invite them to join us too!

Unattended guns CAN cause death or injury!
Glock says so right here in the Tupperware box my G20 came in:
"An unattended loaded weapon can cause injury or death to yourself or another!"
So - this is where the Brady Bunch gets the idea that guns have a mind of their own!
Anyway, I'm not taking any chances - I keep mine loaded and well attended!
Osama's stupid energy policy
It's only stupid or foolhardy IF he does NOT want to ruin America:
+++++++++++++++
Writing in The Daily Caller yesterday, Deneen Borelli with Project 21, describes the foolishness of President Obama’s energy policies.
Be that as it may, Borelli points out how, in his State of the Union Speech, Obama pretended to be concerned about energy production. Just days before his speech, Obama nixed the Keystone XL pipeline, which would have produced 20,000 jobs and helped us become less dependent on Muslim oil.
Borelli notes:
The Obama Dark Ages will descend upon us if he is reelected this November.
+++++++++++++++
He does keep some promises - to fundamentally change America, bankrupt coal, go down in history as a 'first' on so many fronts.

Obama And His Foolhardy Energy Policies
February 7, 2012 by Frank York
Before the 2008 election, Obama promised to bankrupt the coal industry. He's keeping this promise.
Borelli is being kind when she describes his policies as foolhardy. He has made it abundantly clear in statements since before he was elected that he planned on deliberately bankrupting the coal industry and creating an economic situation that would result in sky-high gasoline prices.
Obama’s energy policy excludes coal. Coal now provides approximately 45 percent of our electricity, but regulations generated by the Obama EPA are imposing significant costs on utilities, costs that are forcing some power plants to close and others to spend billions of dollars in order to comply. Those compliance costs will be passed on to consumers in the form of higher electricity prices. Those higher electricity prices will inevitably force more companies to build manufacturing facilities overseas.She also notes that renewable fuels are inefficient, costly and require huge amounts of land:
Fossil fuels — coal, oil and natural gas — provide roughly 85 percent of America’s energy needs. Yet, despite the failure of companies such as Solyndra, Obama is doubling down on renewable energy by calling for a national renewable energy mandate, forcing the Department of Defense to buy enough renewable energy to power a quarter of a million homes and using public lands for “clean” energy development but not for fossil fuel production.
An analysis by Robert Bryce of the Manhattan Institute sheds light on the fundamental limitations of renewable energy. Bryce compares the footprint of the two nuclear reactors at Indian Point, New York, which generate 30 percent of New York City’s electricity, to the footprint of a wind farm that could generate the same amount of power. Wind turbines would require a space equivalent to the size of Rhode Island to produce the same amount of electricity as Indian Point does on approximately 250 acres of land.Nothing is going to change if Obama remains in office in 2013. In fact, it will get much worse than it is now. He is already unchained from the Constitution, but he wants to get elected so his anti-energy aggression will be subdued until he’s safely back in the White House next year. Once that happens, get ready for long gas station waiting lines, $6 a gallon gas (if you can get it), black outs, and out-of-control prices on everything we need for daily living. Now is probably a good time to stock up on non-perishable food items and candles.
The Obama Dark Ages will descend upon us if he is reelected this November.

Gun control lies
This outfit tries yet again to scare America into surrender:
+++++++++++++++
England is a country very similar to ours. They hunt, they collect guns, and marksmanship is a big sport. They have serious drug problems, poverty, gangs, immigration issues etc. Because this is a country where only criminals have guns, we would expect there to be rampant gun violence – huge numbers of gun homicides and gun crime assaults. After all, only the criminals have guns. Even the police don’t carry guns. England has 75 gun homicides per year.
+++++++++++++++
Notice the outright lies - the Telegraph article I refer to below mentions the police carrying machine guns. When I visited there in 1970, the Bobbies carried whistles and nightsticks. Also, the numbers are pure fiction.
Or perhaps they refer to "gun homicides" as cases where a person shot a gun and killed it?
My comment - their first one!
Let's see if they allow that to remain.

Do We Know What Would Happen To The Public’s Safety In A Country Where Only The Criminals Had Guns? Yes We Do.
There is a country where only the criminal have guns—England. In England handguns have been outlawed. No one can own them. The only guns private citizens can own are long guns (the kind used for hunting) and they can only shoot 2 bullets at a time. Further, there are strict requirements for a private citizen to obtain a license for the long gun, including references, interviews with the applicant and people who know them. FIREARM LICENSES ARE NOT GRANTED FOR SELF DEFENSE, WHICH IS NOT CONSIDERED A LEGITIMATE REASON FOR OWNING A GUN. No one can have a gun that shoots more than 2 bullets at a time. However, the criminals illegally get all the guns they want. They can get hand guns that shoot 32 bullets at a time – in under 15 seconds—just like the Tucson murderer.England is a country very similar to ours. They hunt, they collect guns, and marksmanship is a big sport. According to the Telegraph, gun deaths in merry old England have more than doubled since 1998Screen capture:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/law-and-order/6438601/Gun-crime-doubles-in-a-decade.html
"In areas dominated by gang culture, we're now seeing guns used to settle scores between rivals as well as turf wars between rival drug dealers. We need to redouble our efforts to deal with the challenge."
There were 9,865 firearm offences in 2007/08, a rise of 89 per cent on the 5,209 recorded in 1998/99.
Lancashire Police saw a 598 per cent increase from just 50 to 349 over the period while Staffordshire, Warwickshire and Essex all saw five fold increases.
In total, 21 forces saw offences at least double over the decade while just four, Cleveland, Humberside, Cambridgeshire and Sussex, saw the number fall.
While provisional figures for 2008/09 suggest overall firearm offences may be down on the previous year, they point to a doubling of the number of people injured or killed.
Some 1,760 gun related injuries or deaths were provisionally recorded for 2008/09, compared with 864 in 1998/99."
Yep. "Law-abiding gun owners" carrying fully automatic weapons bought on the black market. Gun control sure works just fine.
Keep on believing in your rose-colored imaginary world where if we could just un-invent the gun, all would be peaches and cream and everyone would love their neighbor. I'll keep my guns.
Let's see if they allow that to remain.
