Thank
you
for
contacting
regarding
your
support
to
impeach
and
remove
President
Obama
from
office.
Our
nation's
founders
created
a
system
of
checks
and
balances,
providing
for
congressional
oversight as a
fundamental
part
of
ensuring
co-equal
branches
of
government.
I
took
an
oath
of
office
to
uphold
the
Constitution.
I
take
that
sacred
pledge
very
seriously.
The
president
and
vice
president
of
the
United
States
also
take
an
oath
of
office,
swearing
to
"...preserve,
protect
and
defend
the
Constitution
of
the
United
States."
This
commitment
and
obligation
is
so
fundamental
to
our
democracy
that
our
nation's
founders
proscribed
that
oath
in
our
Constitution.
Article
II,
Section
4
of
our
Constitution
clearly
delineates
that
the
removal
of
the
president
and
vice
president
for,
is
for
among
other
things,
"high
crimes
and
misdemeanors."
Impeachment
is
the
ultimate
power
that
Congress
has
to
prevent
and
punish
abuse
of
power
from
the
Executive
and
Judicial
branches.
President
Obama
and
Vice-President
Biden
in
no
way
qualify
for
the
strict
provisions
detailed
in
our
Constitution
for
impeachment.
It
is
important
that
the
integrity
of
our
checks
and
balances
remain
in
place
through
the
careful
use
of
the
constitutional
powers
given
to
each
branch
of
government.
I
do
not
believe
in
using
the
ultimate
power
that
Congress
has
to
check
the
Executive
and
Judicial
Branches
for
partisan
ends.
Please
be
assured
that
I
will
continue
to
protect
the
constitutional
prerogatives
of
Congress
and
guard
against
excess
power
from
any
branch.
Sincerely, Tammy Baldwin United States Senator :I took an oath of office to uphold the Constitution. I take that sacred pledge very seriously."One wonders which Constitution she is referring to. She has certainly voted for enough un-Constitutional legislation in her time in the House and as a senator. "President Obama and Vice-President Biden in no way qualify for the strict provisions detailed in our Constitution for impeachment."Bowing down to foreign princes and kissing their hands? Giving material aid in the form of tax money stolen from US citizens to our country's sworn enemies? Intentionally violating the laws he himself signed? Directly attacking the Bill of Rights - especially advocating direct violations of the Second Amendment? Biden might not have done anything actionable - being an idiot and a tame parrot isn't a high crime or misdememanor.. |
