Actually, this is nothing new - ever since wire services like Associated Press have existed, newspapers have printed identical stories as filler. Why should TV and, possibly, radio, be any different?
Now, if Mr. O'Brien can provide a similar sequence involving a political hot button, like a school shooting or the "knockout game"....
Note - If the videos above don't both show Conan O'Brien, but videos from an earlier post, it's Blogger's bug. Perhaps this edit will fix things.
